Clients often describe me as energetic, compassionate, authentic, direct, and refreshingly real. I’m not the therapist who simply sits quietly and nods—I show up fully, challenge you when needed, celebrate your victories, and walk alongside you through the hard moments. I genuinely care about the people I work with and believe that meaningful connection is one of the greatest catalysts for healing.
Do you ever get caught off guard by a feeling that seems to come out of the blue? In some cases, you can "power through it" and not let it impact you too much, but other times it seems to get the best of you. Perhaps a little voice shows up and says "You shouldn't be feeling that way" or some version of "toughen up". While these ideas seem good in theory, they just don't take into account these feelings that are present.
I help adults navigate the complexities of trauma, anxiety, addiction, and relationships through a compassionate, judgment-free approach. Using an eclectic, CBT-based framework, I support clients—especially creatives—on their journey toward healing and self-discovery. My own experiences with family trauma shape my understanding, allowing me to provide empathetic and personalized care.
I am a modern, open-minded, and nonjudgmental therapist who creates a safe space for clients to be their authentic selves. With more than 20 years of experience, I provide compassionate, culturally responsive care tailored to each person’s unique needs and life experiences. My approach is honest, relatable, and collaborative, combining proven therapeutic techniques with real-life strategies that help clients heal, grow, strengthen relationships, and create meaningful change.

If you have seen the movie “Groundhog Day” starring Bill Murray as Phil, you would say it is a comedy. But it is more. He finally breaks out of his dull, repetitive life not by changing his surroundings or anyone else; he changes himself.
Just like Phil, if you don’t change something, nothing will change. That is the purpose of counseling: to help you try something different, to change something about yourself, to help you become the best YOU. Whether you are in a tough spot or just have issues you want to address, I am here to help.

Hello, and welcome! I believe therapy works best when you feel comfortable talking openly with someone who listens, understands what matters to you, and helps you find a way forward. My style is conversational, warm, and collaborative. As a licensed psychotherapist with experience in therapy and corporate coaching, I help people feel less overwhelmed and more grounded, confident, and clear about what comes next.
Are you dealing with stress, anxiety, or a life change? You may be functioning on the outside while feeling exhausted or overwhelmed inside. We’ll talk about what is happening, identify what is weighing on you, and develop ways to help you feel calmer and more in control. I also work with neurodivergent adults, including adults with ADHD, and understand that strategies need to fit your life—not the other way around.
Is work becoming a source of stress or burnout? My doctorate in organizational leadership and years of corporate coaching give me a unique perspective on workplace challenges. I help professionals navigate difficult relationships, career transitions, workplace stress, decision-making, communication, and questions about what they want next.
Perhaps you feel stuck. You may know something needs to change but aren’t sure where to begin. Therapy can be a place to sort things out, understand patterns, build healthier habits, and reconnect with the person you want to be.
Clients often tell me they appreciate being heard while also leaving sessions with something useful to think about or try. I believe therapy should provide insight, but it should also help you make changes in everyday life.
I offer daytime, evening, and weekend appointments. You’re welcome to book. I look forward to meeting you and hearing your story.

Sometimes it feels like the actual apocalypse is just around the corner. We are bombarded with terrible headline after terrible headline. Inflation is making it harder to pay the bills, let alone have fun, or reach our dreams. With so much going on in the world, it’s no wonder that there are greater rates of anxiety and depression! In the midst of it all, you might be trying to figure out who you are, what you want from life, how to have that honest conversation with your friend, setting boundaries with a parent, whether to switch jobs, learning to be more comfortable in your skin, etc. It’s a lot to manage. I can help.
I am a licensed psychologist and consider myself a generalist with a wide variety of clinical interests including issues related to family of origin, self esteem, identity development, issues related to oppression and marginalized identities, depression, anxiety, stress, and interpersonal relationships.
Something brought you here. Maybe it is a specific problem that needs solving, or maybe it is a general sense that things could be better. Either way, reaching out takes courage, and you deserve to work with someone who takes that decision seriously.
I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, grief and various types of life transitions. My work is grounded in deep compassion, hope and the belief that every person has inherent worth. My approach is warm, direct, practical and tailored to what you need. For clients who desire it, I integrate Christian principles and faith-based perspectives into our sessions, offering a space where your spiritual journey can be interwoven into your healing and growth.
I draw from psychodynamic and mindfulness-based approaches as well as from cognitive behavioral therapy. But honestly, the research is clear: the most important factor in therapy is the relationship between therapist and client. And that is what I seek to prioritize in my work with people. I believe in this work because I have seen what happens when people get the right support. It changes everything.
Outside the office I am an outdoor enthusiast, a Bible nerd and a firm believer that rest is productive.

Hi! I'm Dena (she/her).
I have 15 years experience and truly love my vocation! I enjoy empowering individuals to achieve their goals and live their best lives. I believe everyone has the ability to heal, sometimes we all need a little help. I am passionate about the power of therapy to aid people in living their best, most authentic lives.
I live on the tristate border and provide remote therapy for persons in Illinois and Iowa. An Iowa native, I spent about a decade living and working in SoCal and Phoenix before returning to the Midwest to be with my (now) husband and step kids. Yes, I left sunny San Diego, in December, for the snowy Midwest! The things we’ll do for love!
I have personally benefitted greatly from therapy. I am Bi/queer, have ADHD, and several physical disabilities, all of which were diagnosed after college. Therapy helped me develop much needed coping skills so I could be successful in grad school and beyond. Therapy also helped me with the intense stressors related to being a young professional during the Great Recession. I continue to utilize therapy as part of my self care routine.
If you are coping with symptoms of anxiety, depression, low self worth, or concerns related to ADHD or chronic health conditions, I would love the opportunity to work with you. I would love to help you to achieve a present no longer overshadowed by past traumas, negative self talk, or uncontrolled anxiety.
I’m Lauren Dircks, LCSW, a licensed therapist in Illinois with immediate openings. Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, grief, or life transitions and longing for a safe space to turn? My passion is creating a supportive, empowering space where you feel truly seen as you heal and grow.

Do you want to finally feel heard and make progress with an experienced therapist? Whether you are facing big life decisions, having relationship issues, or healing from complex trauma, there is hope in recovery. I have extensive experience with providing mental health therapy, clinical supervision, and program management. Additional experience includes working with mental health disorders such as anxiety, depression, trauma, attention deficit disorder, mood disorders, personality disorders, and family relations issues.
If you look like you 'have it all together' but are secretly exhausted by an anxious, non-stop internal monologue, you are in the right place. I help adults navigate the overwhelming seasons of life; from major transitions like career and relationship shifts, to the daily grind of chronic worry and perfectionism.
I believe in an active, collaborative, and tool-forward approach. We will break down your worries and concerns and map out how your mind works in order to build concrete strategies you can use the moment stress hits. I also specialize in supporting individuals who are navigating what makes them different, helping you dismantle internalized pressures so you can live authentically.
At SAM Counseling & Wellness, we believe that healing begins with feeling seen, supported, and understood. Our mission is to help clients build resilience, restore balance, and rediscover hope through education, one mindful step at a time.
We believe that therapy is collaborative, compassionate, and practical. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, strengths-based approaches, and attachment-informed interventions to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we explore how past experiences shape present patterns, identify healthier ways of coping, and develop practical tools that foster resilience, emotional wellness, and lasting change. My goal is to create a supportive space where clients feel empowered to heal, grow, and thrive—not just manage symptoms.
I believe that meaningful change starts with clarity, insight, and a plan. I help people navigate trauma, substance use, life transitions, and identity shifts with a calm, focused approach. I bring a strategic mindset to therapy—always looking beneath the surface to understand patterns, build structure, and support long-term growth. Whether you're processing deep emotional wounds or trying to make sense of a major life change, I offer a space that’s thoughtful, nonjudgmental, and grounded in evidence-based care.

Greetings,
It has always been my desire to serve and bring out the best in people. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Licensed Practitioner of the Healing Arts, my commitment to this work is both personal and professional. Growing up with two parents who struggled with addiction, I experienced anxiety and depression at an early age and made a conscious choice not to become a product of my environment. Instead, I chose a different path , one rooted in healing, understanding and helping others find their way through difficult chapters of their own lives.
My lifelong interest in human behavior and emotional functioning led me into this field, where I strive to help clients gain clarity, develop meaningful coping skills, and move toward their desired goals. I work best with individuals who are ready to roll up their sleeves and actively participate in their healing process. You’ve already taken a courageous first step by reaching out; now let’s explore whether we are a good fit, as it would be an honor to collaborate with you.
I value transparency, authenticity, and a strong therapeutic connection. You are the expert in your lived experience; my role is to support, guide, and walk alongside you as you move toward growth, balance, and emotional well-being.

I have also guided individuals in exploring and managing depression, anxiety, and anger, fostering greater self-awareness and strengthening their ability to take control of their lives.

Hello, I'm Tracey.
"Relationships often die not because of conversations that were had but rather conversations that were never had," (Lysa Terkeurst).
Communication is the #1 most reported reason for couples to enter therapy. It is the "appropriate" way of saying, "he doesn't listen to me," and "all she wants to do is talk and talk, {nag}" or giving each other what I refer to as the "non-verbal abuse" {silent treatment}. It means I don't know my partner, or we can't talk without fighting. Yet almost every couple starts off communicating at some level. I mean, come on--you and your partner would not be a couple if the first date involved playing the "Staring contest" where the first one to blink loses.
What we fail to recognize is that Communication is a form of Intimacy. And all other forms on intimacy hinge on protecting the communicative intimacy. So, what is that and how do I get some before we leave each other?
Communicative intimacy refers to the deep emotional and relational closeness that develops through communication, where individuals feel understood, valued, and connected on a personal level. It is both a feeling and a process shaped by how people interact, listen, and respond to each other. It involves an aligned commitment to taking care of it and protecting it. So, time's a wasting and you both are out of options. You both need to commit to starting this before you commit to ending.
Hi, I’m Joe. I’ve worked in the mental health field for 27 years across substance use treatment, outpatient care, and hospital settings. I’ve supported individuals and families through crisis, transition, and long-term growth.
I work well with young adults, adults, and families who are navigating stress, trauma, anxiety, depression, substance use, or major life changes. I also have extensive experience working with men who may struggle to express emotions directly and instead feel stuck in withdrawal, irritability, or self-doubt.
As a veteran, I understand the mindset and pressures that can come with military life. Across all of my work, I aim to provide a grounded, steady presence where honesty, insight, and meaningful change can take place.
Hi I'm Regina
Do you know that everyone feels overwhelmed; especially now.
Balancing family, work demands, and life is challenging. Everyone experiences these things differently and may need some reminding of their own strengths. I am a highly trained therapist with many years of experience helping clients realize their own potential. My approach is filtered through a culturally rich and ethnically diverse lens. I'm gentle, empathic and meet my clients where they are at.
Building upon past coping mechanisms will enable you to develop and find more effective ways of managing life stressors. Look, I get that everyone has some level of depression and anxiety. There are many interventions we can use from the traditional methods such as cognitive behavioral and solution-focused to the latest smart phone apps.
I recognize that it will be hard work! But, through your hard work will be where true success comes.
I’m a mental health professional with a deep and varied background in education, counseling, human services, and advocacy. Over the years, I’ve worked alongside adults, youth, and families navigating trauma, identity shifts, life transitions, and the lasting weight of systemic challenges like poverty, incarceration, and intergenerational trauma. I don’t just see symptoms, I see people. Whole people. And I meet them exactly where they are.
I am a mental health therapist who is passionate about healing. I believe that health is holistic - mind, body, and spirit. I am passionate about being a safe space for mental and emotional healing, especially for African American and Christian-faith communities who have not, historically, been as open to mental health therapy. I incorporate Christian faith into therapy for clients who desire this.
Do you find yourself feeling overwhelmed or like you just can't get everything done? Do you often wonder how everyone else seems to do it but you can't? Like you are letting people down or you are not enough? Do you struggle to find joy in everyday life or find it difficult to shut down the racing thoughts and enjoy the moment? If so, you have come to the right place.
My name is Lauren and I am a licensed clinical social worker in the state of Illinois. I have over 13 years of experience working in a wide range of settings. I have worked with families, children and teens, in residential substance abuse, private practice, adoption preservation and correctional settings. I have helped clients conquer anxiety, depression, burn out, mom guilt, process past traumas and find the coping skills necessary to live a balanced life.
My style can be described as client centered, strength based and solution focused. I use cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma focused therapy, mindfulness and solution - focused therapy, in combination with genuine conversation. I take a laid back approach as I believe in meeting my clients where they are and working at a pace that is comfortable for them. I know that reaching out for help can be scary but you shouldn't have to struggle alone.
Hello, I'm Leteria and I am here for you.

I have experience working with teens, adults and couples. I have worked with survivors of abuse and trauma for over 20 years through child welfare; as a result, I extensive knowledge and understanding of the challenges parenting brings and what trauma can do to the individual and the family unit. Do you feel stuck in a pattern that is negatively impacting your overall wellness?
Just as important as the "why" is the "what" aspect of the mind. What we think, what we feel and what we believe are all intertwined with our behavior. Exploring the thoughts and beliefs that underpin certain actions can lead to profound self-awareness and personal growth. In my interactions with clients, I have witnessed the transformative power of uncovering and challenging deep-seated beliefs that no longer serve them.
While patterns and commonalities may emerge among individuals, it is crucial to remember that each person's mind is a unique landscape. What works for one may not work for another, and it is my duty as a clinician to adapt the plan of care accordingly. As a therapist and health coach, I incorporate a holistic (mind/body) approach.
Throughout my career, I’ve worked in a variety of settings, including hospitals, community counseling agencies, private practice, and nonprofit organizations. My personal and family history also affords me valuable lived experiences that inform my approach with clients and advances my ability to extend empathy to my clients. This diverse experience has allowed me to work with people from many different walks of life, each with their own unique challenges, hopes, and dreams.
I am a licensed clinical social worker by education, and I have been a licensed clinician for over 23 years. Most recently my career has brought me to work in collaboration with GROW as a private therapist. I have been working on GROW for nearly 2 years. I also work part time as a group therapy counselor for aging adults in an intensive mental health and community outreach program. I love both occupational settings and my clients with ever growing passion.
We live in a fast-moving society, and it can be hard to keep up with all of our various adult life roles and responsibilities. Adults, young and mature, who are making mental health a priority in their lives are notably the most satisfied and happy individuals in this challenging society. I offer my clients a safe space to explore their experiences in this world, express and understand their feelings, get to know themselves on a deeper level, and learn skills to take control of their thoughts and emotions. I will often challenge my clients to intentionally practice new skills or approaches outside of our sessions. My ultimate objective is helping my clients achieve their definition of personal success and satisfaction.
I have worked with a variety of adult clients of various ages and life phases. Each phase of our adult life comes with unique challenges. I have extensive and varied experience working with adults in late stages of life, long past retirement, and clients who are nearing death. The last stage of life can be the most challenging and requires the most assistance yet there are limited services to support the mental health needs of the current aging population. This is a serious problem, and I am on a mission to be part of the solution.
I greet every client with the belief that we are born into this world with the capacity for living unique and healthy lives. I believe that it is the stressors of challenging individual experiences, pain and illnesses, trauma, and attachment injuries that move us off our centers and cause symptoms of depression, anxiety, and dysfunctional defensive behaviors.
My goal is to create a setting where my client feels safe and supported, and therefore able to re-examine the patterns that form our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Together, as a collaboration, we can take the fascinating journey and reach for full potential, coherence, and health

Tricia (she/her) earned her undergraduate degree from Marquette University in Social Welfare & Justice, with minors in Psychology and Peace Studies. Driven by a passion for community and healing, she went on to obtain her Master of Social Work (MSW) from Loyola University Chicago. During her graduate studies, Tricia immersed herself in school settings, gaining advanced, comprehensive training in the unique mental health needs of children and families.
Today, Tricia brings her expertise to both educational environments and private practice. In her school-based work, she provides critical crisis and ongoing support, conducts safety assessments, connects families with vital community resources, and helps students navigate school-related challenges such as general trauma and school refusal.
In her private practice, Tricia specializes in supporting individuals navigating life transitions, depression, anxiety, and the daily pursuit of life balance. She also has dedicated experience working within the LGBTQ+ community, particularly supporting individuals pursuing gender-affirming care.
Her Philosophy: Tricia firmly believes that therapy is never "one-size-fits-all." She collaborates closely with her clients to design highly individualized treatment plans tailored to their unique goals.
By blending Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and mindfulness-based approaches, Tricia creates a safe, non-judgmental environment where clients feel truly heard. Depending on your needs, sessions may include a blend of structured exercises, practical skills-building, and open-ended discussion. Tricia is passionate about cultivating long-term therapeutic relationships that foster self-awareness, growth, and lasting healing. Her clients frequently describe her as direct, empathetic, and insightful.
I am a compassionate, thoughtful, and grounded provider who values creating a safe, supportive space where clients can feel seen, heard, and empowered. My approach is rooted in meeting people where they are while helping them move toward meaningful growth and healing at a pace that feels right for them. I believe every person has a unique path, and my role is to help illuminate possibilities, build on strengths, and support lasting change.
In addition to my work as a therapist, I also bring experience as a veterinary social worker, which has deepened my understanding of the emotional challenges that can come with caregiving, grief, loss, and life transitions. This background allows me to offer added compassion and support, especially for clients navigating the unique bond between humans and animals or the stress that can come with caring for a beloved pet.
With a warm and collaborative style, I strive to make therapy feel approachable, respectful, and genuinely connected to each client’s needs. I bring curiosity, care, and intention to my work, and I value helping clients navigate challenges while also reconnecting with their sense of self, purpose, and direction. My practice, Infinite Pathways, reflects my belief that there is more than one way forward, and that healing often begins when people feel supported in discovering what works best for them.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than thirty years of experience supporting individuals and families across schools, hospitals, substance use programs, homeless shelters, and community mental health settings. My work is compassionate and individualized, honoring both psychological insight and the spiritual depth many people bring to their healing. I help young adults struggling with anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief/loss, ADHD, support needs, and more. I love utilizing an eclectic approach because no one theory or modality works with all clients. My goal is to help you reach your goals and help you be the best version of yourself.

Welcome!
I’m a bilingual Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Addiction Counselor with more than 20 years of experience—and this work is truly my passion. As someone who came to this as a second career, I consider it an honor and privilege to walk alongside young adults and adults as they navigate life’s challenges.
I provide counseling for a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, substance misuse, process addictions, anger, relationship difficulties, and life transitions. My counseling style is warm, empowering, and collaborative. I believe that every person has the strength and wisdom to create meaningful change, and I strive to offer a safe, respectful, and supportive space where you can explore, heal, and grow.
My role as a therapist is to guide, advocate, and support you as you find your voice and build a more balanced and fulfilling life. I meet clients where they are, honoring the belief that you are the expert of your own experience.
To ensure each person receives the focused care and attention they deserve, I intentionally keep a small caseload. This allows me to be fully present and responsive to each client’s unique needs.
I take an integrated, person-centered approach that draws from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness and meditation practices, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). Every treatment plan is developed collaboratively, tailored to your goals, preferences, and pace—because therapy should fit you, not the other way around.
If you’re ready to take the next step toward a healthier, more grounded life, I would be honored to support you on that journey.
My style as a therapist is relational and supportive, and I believe therapy works best when you feel safe, comfortable, and genuinely understood. Our work together isn’t about fixing you or pushing you to change before you’re ready. It’s about building a trusting relationship where you can show up as yourself — without masking, over-explaining, or having all the answers.

I believe therapy should feel calm, respectful, and genuinely supportive. I create a space where people can slow down, speak openly, and feel heard without judgment or pressure. My approach is warm, grounded, and collaborative, allowing clients to explore their experiences at a pace that feels comfortable while still working toward meaningful change.
Many people come to therapy carrying stress, anxiety, relationship challenges, or past experiences while continuing to manage daily responsibilities. I enjoy helping people make sense of what they are going through, build insight, and reconnect with their strengths. Conversations are honest and thoughtful, with a focus on understanding the whole person rather than just one concern.
My goal is to offer steady guidance while respecting each client’s individuality, goals, and values. Therapy becomes a space to reflect, gain clarity, heal, and begin moving forward with greater confidence and emotional balance.
Through a client-centered, feminist, and trauma-informed lens, I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental, empathic, and collaborative space for healing and growth. However, I also believe that the therapeutic relationship is a vital component within any program, which means that I believe that any work needs to be collaborative between myself and my clients. I am certified to deliver trauma-focused treatments as well as providing services to help manage stress and anxiety.

Hello! I’m a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) based in Illinois. I have worked in the mental health field for seventeen years in both hospital and outpatient settings. This experience includes work in direct patient care, program development, and in hospital administration in a clinical director role.
I also have taught coursework in psychology and human development in a university setting, and worked in an administrative capacity in secondary education in the state of Illinois. My educational background includes a Masters in Clinical Psychology and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership. My clinical approach brings behavioral intervention and education together in a clinical setting. I enjoy using psychoeducation as a foundation for treatment. That means I like to focus on educating the patient on their symptoms/diagnosis so we can collaborate on a treatment plan that they understand and makes sense for their life circumstance. If people understand why they experience the symptoms they have and how their body responds to stressors; it can give them the insight necessary to build skills to cope in a healthy and effective way.

My name is Lisa, and I provide therapy for both addictions and mental health issues. While I have treated those with active addiction for many years, I also treat behavior patterns stemming from addictions and family dysfunction. I have a Master of Education degree in Counselor Education from Southern Illinois University specializing in Substance Abuse. From substance abuse counseling, I have expanded my areas of specialties to include family and relationship dynamics and how to heal "survival skills" that have evolved into self-defeating life patterns.

I’m Sarah, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Air Force veteran who provides warm, compassionate, and practical therapy for adults navigating life’s challenges. Through my practice, I create a safe, judgment-free space where clients can slow down, feel heard, and better understand what they’re experiencing.
I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, burnout, relationship challenges, low self-worth, emotional overwhelm, and major life transitions. I especially enjoy working with women, veterans, and individuals who are used to being the strong one for everyone else but are privately struggling to keep up.
My approach is collaborative, genuine, and individualized. I draw from evidence-based approaches such as CBT, DBT, trauma-informed therapy, and mindfulness, while tailoring treatment to each person’s needs, goals, and experiences. I believe therapy should be both supportive and practical—you should leave sessions with greater insight as well as tools you can use in your everyday life.
I don’t believe you have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. Whether you’re struggling with something that happened recently or carrying experiences from years ago, therapy can be a place to process, heal, and create a different path forward.
My goal is to help you feel more connected to yourself, more confident in your choices, and better equipped to navigate life with greater clarity and resilience. Most importantly, I want you to feel like you can show up exactly as you are—without judgment—and know that you don’t have to navigate everything alone.

Hello, I’m a licensed clinical social worker based in Illinois, specializing in anxiety, depression, and stress management, and mindfulness. I also have experience working with veterans. I am dedicated to helping individuals navigate their mental health, manage anxiety, and reconnect with their sense of purpose.
As a therapist, I believe in a systemic approach, understanding that we all operate in an intricate web of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and how they relate to others around us. I primarily use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), existential, and humanistic modalities to help you explore these connections and build a stronger foundation for growth. I also offer EMDR to process trauma.
I take a collaborative and compassionate approach in therapy, recognizing that every person has both strengths and vulnerabilities that shape their healing journey. My goal is to support you in tapping into your resilience, finding clarity, and fostering a life aligned with your values.
If you're looking to explore your growth or tackle anxiety, I’m here to help you move forward, offering services through a secure tele-health platform.
