Hello, I'm Kristin C. Jennings, LICSW. I believe lasting change begins with understanding the connection between our thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and overall well-being. My approach is warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental, creating a space where you can feel safe, heard, and supported while working toward meaningful change. I specialize in helping adults navigate emotional eating, overeating, stress, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and challenges with self-worth. Together, we'll explore the underlying emotional patterns that may be keeping you stuck while building practical tools to help you develop healthier coping strategies and a more balanced relationship with yourself and food. I believe healing goes beyond willpower, it begins with self-awareness, self-compassion, and sustainable habits. My therapeutic style integrates evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focused Therapy. For clients who desire it, I also offer Christian counseling that thoughtfully integrates faith into the therapeutic process. In addition to therapy, I incorporate my My Wellness Weigh-In™ Framework, which encourages clients to regularly check in with their spirit, mind, and body as a foundation for lasting wellness. I believe true healing happens when we care for the whole person, not not just the symptoms. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, struggling with emotional eating, or simply ready to create healthier patterns, my goal is to help you gain insight, build resilience, and move forward with greater confidence, clarity, and hope. It would be a privilege to support you on your journey toward healing and lasting wellness.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a strong therapeutic relationship. My goal is to create a warm, welcoming, and nonjudgmental space where you feel comfortable sharing your story at your own pace. During our first meeting, we'll discuss what brings you to therapy, the challenges you're currently facing, and what you hope to accomplish through our work together. I'll ask questions about your personal history, relationships, emotional well-being, coping strategies, and any factors that may be impacting your daily life. This helps me gain a holistic understanding of your experiences so we can develop a treatment plan that reflects your unique needs and goals. If you're seeking support for emotional eating or overeating, we'll also begin exploring your relationship with food, emotional triggers, eating patterns, and the role food may play in coping with stress or difficult emotions. There is no judgment—only curiosity, compassion, and a desire to understand what has brought you to this point. You're welcome to ask questions throughout the session. Therapy is a collaborative process, and I want you to feel informed, empowered, and actively involved in your care. Before we end, we'll discuss initial goals, identify practical next steps, and determine whether we're a good fit to continue working together. Beginning therapy can feel like a big step, but you don't have to have everything figured out before you start. My role is to meet you where you are, help you gain clarity, and provide the support and tools you need to move toward healing, growth, and lasting wellness

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I believe one of the greatest strengths I bring to therapy is my ability to create a space where clients feel both deeply supported and appropriately challenged. My approach is compassionate, genuine, and collaborative. I meet clients with empathy and without judgment while also helping them recognize the patterns, beliefs, and behaviors that may be keeping them stuck. Healing often requires both grace and accountability, and I strive to provide both. Clients can expect me to hold space for difficult emotions while also asking thoughtful questions that encourage insight, growth, and lasting change. I don't believe in simply talking about problems—I believe in helping clients develop practical tools and new perspectives they can apply in their everyday lives. My goal is to help you leave each session with greater clarity, hope, and confidence than when you arrived. My work is grounded in the belief that true wellness involves the whole person. Through my My Wellness Weigh-In™ Framework, I help clients intentionally check in with their spirit, mind, and body, recognizing that emotional health is connected to how we think, cope, care for ourselves, and move through the world. This holistic perspective is especially meaningful for individuals struggling with emotional eating, stress, anxiety, life transitions, and self-worth. Like many people, I have experienced seasons that required resilience, reflection, and personal growth. Those experiences have deepened my compassion, strengthened my ability to sit with people in difficult moments, and reinforced my belief that healing is possible. While every client's story is unique, I understand what it means to navigate challenges and emerge with greater wisdom and purpose. I consider it a privilege to walk alongside my clients. Whether you need a safe place to process, someone to gently challenge your thinking, or support in creating healthier patterns, my commitment is to help you grow into the healthiest, most authentic version of yourself.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my practice, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we identify unhelpful thinking patterns that may be contributing to anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, or relationship difficulties, and work to replace them with healthier, more balanced perspectives. My approach is collaborative, supportive, and practical, equipping clients with effective coping skills they can use in their daily lives. I tailor CBT techniques to each individual's goals, helping clients build confidence, strengthen emotional resilience, and make meaningful, lasting changes.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I incorporate Mindfulness-Based Therapy to help clients slow down, become more present, and build a healthier relationship with their thoughts and emotions. Rather than trying to eliminate difficult feelings, this approach teaches clients to notice and accept their experiences with greater awareness and compassion. Through mindfulness practices such as breathing exercises, grounding techniques, and guided meditation, clients learn practical skills to reduce stress, manage anxiety, improve emotional well-being, and respond to life's challenges with greater calm and clarity. I adapt these techniques to meet each client's individual goals and comfort level, creating a supportive environment for healing and personal growth

Christian Counseling

I provide Christian counseling for individuals who wish to include their faith as part of their healing journey. I thoughtfully integrate biblical principles with evidence-based therapeutic approaches to help clients navigate challenges such as anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, grief, life transitions, and personal growth. Therapy is always client-centered, and faith-based interventions—including prayer, Scripture, and spiritual reflection—are incorporated only at the client's request and in alignment with their comfort level and goals. My aim is to create a supportive environment where clients can experience healing, deepen their faith, and pursue emotional, mental, and spiritual wellness.

Group Therapy

I use group therapy to bring individuals together in a supportive and encouraging environment where they can connect with others who share similar experiences. Group therapy offers a unique opportunity to receive support, gain new perspectives, develop coping skills, and practice healthier ways of relating to others. I facilitate groups with a focus on creating a respectful, confidential, and welcoming space where each participant feels heard and valued. Whether the group focuses on emotional wellness, stress management, eating disorders, or personal growth, my goal is to help members build resilience, foster meaningful connections, and experience healing through shared support and evidence-based therapeutic practices
