Hi there, I'm Laurie. Would you like to dive deeper into your own inner healing? Would you like to work with someone with a holistic, soulful, and mindful approach? I would love to work with you to allow you the space and support you need to heal and live abundantly, peacefully and expansively. During our sessions, you will be supported as you give attention to the places within you that you desire to heal. I will teach you strategies to regulate your emotions so that you can respond to life feeling centered, confident, and aware. If you experience feelings overwhelm, stress, or dysregulation of your emotions, therapy can be a supportive place to experience these emotions and integrate them into your life without becoming overwhelmed by them. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and I have worked as a school social worker for 20 years with adolescents, young children, and families. I am also a Certified Mindfulness Facilitator through Copper Beech Institute. I am passionate about integrating mindfulness practices with other healing modalities. Most recently, I received certification from The Embody Lab in Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy. I am also passionate about discovering how our bodies experience and hold trauma. When we discover the ways we hold our emotions and experiences in our bodies, we can began to unravel this and experience a different level of peace and freedom.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session, I would love to be able to gain a broad picture of who you are and what your current needs are. I may ask some general questions to get to know you and will tell you a little about myself and my approach. During our first session, my goal is to establish a genuine connection with you and to create an environment where you will feel comfortable opening your heart.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My strengths as a therapist are the ability to establish deep connections and genuine empathy and compassion for those that I work with. This genuine connection will allow you to feel comfortable and at ease while exploring your inner life. I have experience and expertise working with educators and mental health professionals who have experienced vicarious trauma and burnout. I also have experience and expertise working with overwhelmed parents who seek to rediscover themselves and their passions so that they may experience a balance and peace. I also have experience and passion for those who are grieving. I will provide the space to integrate the grief and loss into your life while helping you discover ways to find comfort and reduce your suffering.

My treatment methods

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

We will used mindfulness based practices such as mindfulness meditation, relaxation techniques, visualizations, grounding techniques, journaling, and nervous system regulation techniques to promote self directed inner healing. I will help you find routines and practices that allow you to be in the present moment and to access your own inner strength and intuition.

Somatic

Somatic therapy focuses on the body's role in processing emotions and experiences. We will use awareness, grounding exercises, breathwork, and movement to regulate the nervous system and address and process trauma.
