New to Grow
Hello, I’m Dr. Jeanne D. Williams, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker dedicated to helping individuals, couples, and families navigate life’s challenges and discover healing, growth, and balance. I provide a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where clients can better understand their thoughts and behaviors while building practical tools for lasting change. My approach is grounded in evidence-based practices like CBT and tailored to help you feel more in control, balanced, and connected in your daily life.
In our first few sessions, you can expect a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where we explore your story, identify your goals, and create a personalized plan for healing and personal growth.
My strength lies in helping clients make sense of what they’re experiencing while also giving them clear, actionable steps forward. I’m skilled at identifying patterns such as overthinking, emotional overwhelm, and maladaptive coping, and guiding clients through evidence-based strategies to shift those patterns. Clients often leave sessions with both deeper insight and tools they can immediately apply.
I am best positioned to support individuals who are navigating anxiety, stress, emotional overwhelm, and patterns of overthinking or rumination that interfere with their daily functioning and overall well-being. Many of the clients I work with feel mentally “on” all the time struggling to slow their thoughts, disconnect from responsibilities, or find a sense of balance. Client Mindset & Readiness. I am especially effective with clients who are: Open to self-reflection and gaining insight into their patterns Motivated for change, even if they feel stuck or unsure where to start Willing to engage in skill-building and apply strategies outside of sessions, Looking for a structured yet supportive approach to therapy.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
As a therapist, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a foundational, evidence-based approach to support clients in understanding the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. My experience with CBT involves helping clients identify unhelpful thinking patterns, increase awareness of cognitive distortions, and develop more balanced and adaptive ways of responding to stressors. In my clinical work, I incorporate CBT techniques such as: Cognitive restructuring to challenge and reframe negative or ruminative thoughts Thought tracking and journaling to build insight and awareness Behavioral activation to reduce avoidance and increase engagement in meaningful activities Skills for impulse control and emotional regulation Psychoeducation to help clients understand how thought patterns influence emotional experiences I have experience applying CBT across a range of presenting concerns, including anxiety, stress-related disorders, emotional dysregulation, and maladaptive coping behaviors. I often integrate CBT with a trauma-informed and person-centered approach, ensuring that interventions are collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to each client’s unique needs. My approach emphasizes not only symptom reduction but also empowering clients with practical tools they can use outside of sessions. I support clients in building sustainable coping strategies, improving self-awareness, and developing healthier patterns of thinking and behavior that contribute to long-term emotional well-being.
