Welcome! I’m glad you’re here. I’m a licensed therapist specializing in the treatment of eating disorders, OCD, and healthcare worker stress/burnout. At this time, due to caseload, I am only accepting new patients who present with one of the aforementioned areas of concerns. I have extensive experience across many levels of care (from inpatient to residential, PHP, IOP, and outpatient settings) so I’m comfortable supporting patients with different levels of severity and complexity. I’ve also spent years working in utilization management, which means I understand insurance systems well and can help you navigate them as part of treatment. I hold an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Texas State University and a B.S. in Economics & Management Science from MIT.
In our first session, we’ll spend some time going over how I work, what to expect, and a few practical details. Then we’ll shift into getting to know you: what’s going on in your life and what brought you to therapy now. Together, we’ll develop your goals and a sense of how I can best support you moving forward.
I show up as a real person in the room, not a stiff professional who is here to dictate your healing. I'm genuine, engaged, and not afraid to use humor when appropriate. I work collaboratively to make sure therapy feels like a partnership rather than me talking AT you. I bring years of deep clinical experience, but I balance it with the belief that we’re all human, growing, and figuring things out together!
Psychodynamic
Psychodynamic psychotherapy helps you notice patterns in your thoughts, feelings, and relationships that you might not realize are there - oftentimes formed in your past. Together, we will explore where these patterns come from and how they show up in your life now. With this understanding, you can feel more in control, less weighed down, and more free to make the changes you want.
Prolonged Exposure Therapy
Prolonged Exposure (PE) is a gold standard therapy for PTSD and other trauma-based issues. It helps you gradually face and emotionally process memories, feelings, and situations you’ve been avoiding at a pace that feels safe and supported. By approaching instead of pushing away, your brain learns that these experiences are no longer dangerous. Over time, many people notice a big drop in fear, nightmares, and triggers, and feel more present and connected.
Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)
ERP is a gold-standard treatment for OCD and other rumination/anxiety-based disorders (such as panic disorder, body dysmorphic disorder, or social anxiety). This approach can also be used for eating disorders. In ERP, the focus is on helping you face your triggers without performing the compulsions or rituals normally used to feel better. This will feel uncomfortable, but with consistent practice, most people find that obsessions lose their grip over time, anxiety decreases on its own, and compulsions feel less urgent and necessary.
