Hello, I'm Stephanie Capone, LCSW. I provide a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where individuals can explore life's challenges, build resilience, and create meaningful change.

I believe meaningful change happens when people feel comfortable bringing their authentic selves into the therapy room, and I work hard to build that foundation of trust from the very beginning.

I work collaboratively with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship concerns, life transitions, stress, and self-esteem issues, helping them identify strengths and develop practical tools to support emotional well-being and personal growth.

First session

During your first session, you can expect a welcoming, supportive conversation focused on getting to know you and understanding what brings you to therapy. We'll discuss your current concerns, relevant life experiences, strengths, and the goals you'd like to work toward. There is no pressure to share everything at once. Therapy moves at a pace that feels comfortable for you. My goal is for you to leave the first session feeling heard, understood, and hopeful about the path ahead. Together, we'll begin identifying priorities, explore what has and hasn't worked for you in the past, and create a plan that is tailored to your unique needs. Whether you're new to therapy or returning after some time away, I strive to provide a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can show up exactly as you are and take the first steps toward meaningful change.

Strengths

One of my greatest strengths is my ability to create a safe, supportive environment where clients feel genuinely heard, understood, and accepted. I believe meaningful change happens when people feel comfortable bringing their authentic selves into the therapy room, and I work hard to build that foundation of trust from the very beginning. My approach is strengths-based, trauma-informed, and collaborative. Rather than focusing solely on challenges, I help clients recognize their resilience and build on the strengths they already possess. I integrate evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and mindfulness techniques, tailoring treatment to each individual's unique needs and goals. What sets my approach apart is my ability to balance compassion with practical strategies. Clients often appreciate that our sessions provide both a space to process emotions and concrete tools they can use in daily life. With experience supporting individuals through trauma, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationship challenges, I strive to help clients gain insight, build confidence, and create meaningful, lasting change.

Ideal clients

My ideal client is someone who is ready to explore meaningful change, whether they are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, relationship challenges, or a major life transition. They may feel overwhelmed, stuck, disconnected, or uncertain about how to move forward, but they have a desire to better understand themselves and improve their overall well-being. I enjoy working with individuals who are open to self-reflection and personal growth, even if taking that first step into therapy feels intimidating. Many of my clients are balancing multiple responsibilities and caring for others while struggling to prioritize their own needs. Together, we work to identify patterns, build practical coping skills, strengthen resilience, and create lasting change. Most importantly, my ideal client is not someone who has all the answers. It's someone who is willing to show up as they are. I believe every person has strengths they can build upon, and I am passionate about helping clients discover those strengths while moving toward a more fulfilling and authentic life.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is one of the primary approaches I use to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Often, when people are struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, or low self-esteem, they can become caught in patterns of thinking that contribute to emotional distress and make it difficult to move forward. In our work together, we'll identify unhelpful thought patterns, explore how they impact your emotions and daily life, and develop practical strategies to challenge and reframe them. CBT is a goal-oriented, evidence-based approach that helps clients build healthier ways of thinking, improve coping skills, and create meaningful behavioral changes. I use CBT in a collaborative and personalized way, tailoring interventions to each client's unique experiences and goals. Rather than simply focusing on problems, I help clients recognize their strengths, develop effective tools for managing challenges, and gain confidence in their ability to navigate life's difficulties. Many clients find that CBT not only helps them feel better in the moment but also provides lasting skills they can continue using long after therapy ends.
