I am Vicki Stokes, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker dedicated to creating a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore life’s challenges and build on your inherent strengths. My approach is warm and collaborative, utilizing evidence-based therapies like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) to help you navigate anxiety, burnout, or major life transitions. Whether you're feeling stuck or seeking personal growth, I'm here to support you in finding clarity and lasting change. Let’s connect to see if we're a good fit.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In your first mental health session, expect a warm, welcoming, and confidential environment focused on getting to know you. The session serves as an "ice-breaker," where we will discuss what brings you to therapy, your background, current challenges, and goals, rather than jumping immediately into deep, intense processing.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My therapeutic approach prioritizes a deeply empathetic, tailored connection that ensures clients feel genuinely seen and understood, moving beyond just clinical, symptom-focused talk. By integrating evidence-based methods with a collaborative, strength-based focus, the process accelerates meaningful, lasting change.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to serve clients who fall into the following categories: • High-Achieving "Overwhelmed" clients that look like they have it all together on the outside, but struggle with internal burnout. The goal of intervention will be to decouple self-worth from productivity and develop authentic self-compassion. • Clients that struggle with interpersonal relationships. These individuals find themselves repeating the same painful patterns in their personal lives and are finally ready to look at the "why." There therapy goal will be to build secure attachments and learn how to communicate needs without guilt. • "Transitioner" clients who are facing a significant life pivot who feel their old coping mechanisms are no longer working. The goal in therapy will be to find clarity and ground themselves in their values during times of chaos.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) intervention is used to collaborate with client to define problems, assign homework to practice new skills, and apply techniques like cognitive restructuring and behavioral activation to break vicious cycles.

Cognitive Processing (CPT)

Cognitive Procession Therapy (CPT) is a structured, 12-session trauma-focused intervention that helps the client reduce PTSD symptoms by identifying and challenging "stuck points" which are unhelpful, trauma-related beliefs.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Utilization of Dialectical Behavior Therapy skills (mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance interpersonal effectiveness) to target triggering behaviors, conduct chain analysis to understand behavioral triggers, teach mindfulness, and improve distress tolerance

Strength-Based

Strength-based therapy utilizes collaborative counseling approach focusing on the client's internal resources, resilience, and competencies rather than just their deficits or problems. These goals are accomplished by identifying and leveraging existing strengths allowing the individuals to foster personal growth, improve self-esteem, and change their worldview to a more optimistic one.
