Hello! I’m Lesley-Ann Vickerie, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with over 15 years of experience in the social work field. My professional journey is rooted in a long history of advocacy and leadership within child welfare and community systems. I began my dedicated clinical training in 2018 and, since earning my Master of Social Work from the University of North Florida in 2020, I have focused on providing high-quality, trauma-informed telehealth care. I work with teens, college students, and adults (ages 12–50) who are self-aware and reflective, yet feel "stuck" when trying to turn their inner insights into sustainable life changes. My practice is designed for those seeking a grounded, authentic way of moving through the world. My Approach Therapy with me is calm, collaborative, and grounded in real life. We slow things down so you can better understand what’s happening internally, make sense of patterns, and start moving with more clarity and intention. I integrate CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and creative art-based tools to support both emotional understanding and practical change. Sessions are structured enough to feel supportive, but flexible enough to honor your pace and process. I believe that creative expression can often bridge the gap between "knowing" your patterns and actually "changing" them. At the center of my work is your autonomy. We focus on helping you build tools that actually fit your life, not just our therapeutic space. My goal is to help you feel more connected to yourself, more confident in your direction, and supported as you move forward at your own pace.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and we’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Our first session is a grounded “get-to-know-you” space where we explore your lived experiences, natural strengths, and what you’re hoping to achieve. We’ll talk about what brings you to therapy at this time and gently identify the areas where you feel most stuck. From there, we’ll begin outlining a simple, collaborative roadmap tailored to your goals. I view this as a partnership, and your feedback plays an essential role in shaping our work together. If it feels helpful, we may introduce brief creative or mindfulness-based tools to support expression beyond words. We’ll close with a clear sense of direction so you leave feeling supported, grounded, and informed about next steps.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I offer a warm, nonjudgmental space for clients who are self-aware but feel stuck moving from insight into sustainable change. My work is culturally responsive, neuro-affirming, and highly individualized: - Neurodivergent-Affirming Care: Supporting ADHD and Autistic clients in building self-understanding, reducing overwhelm, and developing strategies that align with how they naturally function, without pressure to mask. - Cultural Depth: As a Caribbean American therapist, I hold space for identity, belonging, and generational patterns, supporting clients in defining themselves in ways that feel authentic and self-directed. - Creative Integration: Using art, reflection, and mindfulness to move beyond overthinking into emotional clarity and meaningful change. - Burnout & Transitions: With 15 years in social services, I support students and professionals navigating burnout, anxiety, imposter syndrome, and life transitions with structure and practical support. At the core of my work is a simple belief: you are the expert of your story. My role is to help you reconnect with your strengths and move forward in a way that feels grounded and sustainable.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work with teens, college students, and adults (ages 12–50) who are self-aware and reflective, yet feel stuck between insight and meaningful change. Many clients come feeling overwhelmed, burnt out, or uncertain about direction, even when things appear “fine” externally. I am especially positioned to support: - Neurodivergent individuals (ADHD, Autism) seeking more ease and less masking - Caribbean American clients exploring identity, belonging, and generational patterns - Students and professionals navigating burnout, imposter syndrome, and transitions - Caregivers and helpers who are often holding space for others, yet navigating chronic stress and needing space to be supported themselves

My treatment methods

Eclectic

My approach is flexible, collaborative, and tailored to each client, integrating art therapy, CBT, mindfulness, and strengths-based care to support both insight and meaningful change.

Psychoeducation

I incorporate psychoeducation throughout our work to help reduce stigma and deepen understanding of how thoughts, emotions, experiences, and environment interact. Together, we focus on building practical skills that support your growth beyond therapy.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness and grounding techniques are used to support emotional regulation, self-awareness, and the ability to feel more steady in daily life. When helpful, I also integrate creative and art-based practices to help express what can be difficult to put into words.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is used to gently identify unhelpful thought patterns and reframe them with more balanced, compassionate perspectives (often paired with reflective or creative tools for deeper integration).

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

Healing is not one-size-fits-all. My work is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and grounded in the belief that context matters. I hold space for identity, family systems, and generational patterns, while supporting clients in defining a path forward that feels authentic and self-directed. In our work, we look beyond the individual to understand the broader systems (family, community, and culture) that shape lived experience and emotional well-being. My goal is to support clarity, self-trust, and a sense of alignment that honors both where you come from and where you’re choosing to go.
