LCSW, 5 years of experience
Hello! I’m Lesley-Ann Vickerie, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Jacksonville, FL. With over 15 years in the social work field and 5+ years as a clinician, I’ve had the privilege of supporting children, teens, and families through trauma, transitions, and healing. Since earning my MSW from the University of North Florida, I’ve worked in diverse community and clinical settings and have provided telehealth therapy exclusively since 2022, helping clients access care wherever they are. I’m passionate about working with children, teens, and young adults navigating anxiety, life transitions, or identity exploration. I also specialize in supporting clients on the autism spectrum, women and children coping with medical challenges, and Caribbean-American clients exploring cultural identity and generational trauma. My therapeutic approach blends art therapy with evidence-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and strengths-based practice. I believe creative expression can bridge the gap between what can be spoken and what lives unspoken within us. Clients often leave sessions feeling more grounded, understood, and equipped with tools for daily life.
It’s normal to feel uncertain or nervous before your first session, we’ll move at your pace. I’ll start by getting to know you through open conversation and gentle questions about your story, strengths, and goals for therapy. Together, we’ll explore what brought you here and begin shaping a plan that aligns with your needs and comfort level. If you’re open to it, I may introduce creative or mindfulness-based activities as a way to deepen expression and self-understanding. Each session ends with gratitude for the time and space you’ve shared and a clear plan for our next steps together.
I create a welcoming and non-judgmental space that invites curiosity, creativity, and authentic connection. Art, writing, and mindfulness often help clients express emotions that feel too big or complex for words, revealing insights that support real change. As a Caribbean-American therapist, I bring a culturally responsive lens that fosters trust and safety for clients exploring identity, belonging, or intergenerational trauma. My work centers on helping clients build resilience, self-compassion, and emotional regulation while breaking cycles that no longer serve them. Ultimately, I believe you are the expert of your own story, and my role is to help you reconnect with your strengths, rediscover balance, and move toward healing, at your own pace.
I work with: -Children, teens, and young adults managing anxiety, depression, or stress. -Autistic and neurodivergent clients developing self-understanding and coping skills. -Women and children facing chronic or medical challenges. -Caribbean-American and multicultural clients exploring identity, migration, and generational patterns. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected, yet open to exploring creative and reflective tools for growth. Our work focuses on both immediate relief and lasting transformation.
I tailor sessions to each client using a combination of art therapy, CBT, mindfulness, and strengths-based interventions. This flexible approach ensures that therapy feels personal, supportive, and effective in achieving your goals.
For over 5 years, I’ve incorporated psychoeducation into sessions to reduce stigma and empower clients. Together, we explore how symptoms, experiences, and environments intersect and identify practical skills to support your growth beyond therapy.
Through grounding exercises, breathing work, and mindful art-making, I help clients build awareness, emotional regulation, and self-soothing strategies that enhance daily life.
I use CBT techniques to help clients identify unhelpful thoughts and patterns, replacing them with realistic, compassionate perspectives. For youth and young adults, I often pair CBT with art-based reflection to make therapy more engaging and meaningful.
Healing is not one-size-fits-all. My work reflects a trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and creative approach to therapy. As a Caribbean-American clinician, I aim to bridge the gap between culture, expression, and mental health, breaking down stigma and helping clients honor where they’ve been while shaping where they’re going. My goal is to treat not only the individual, but the larger systems (family, community, and culture) that influence their well-being.
