Melissa Cuevas
I am a passionate, client-centered practitioner dedicated to creating a safe, supportive, and empowering therapeutic environment. My work is deeply shaped by the challenges I have overcome through my own therapeutic journey, which fuels my commitment to helping others navigate theirs. I strongly advocate for my clients, honoring the unique experiences, identities, and stories each person brings to the process. My goal is to provide compassionate guidance, practical tools, and a judgment-free space where clients can heal, grow, and build the lives they envision.
First session
Sessions with me are warm, supportive, and centered on meeting you where you are. I listen without judgement, help you recognize your strengths, and work with you to develop practical tools for managing challenges and creating meaningful change.
Strengths
Sessions with me are warm, supportive, and centered on meeting you where you are. I listen without judgement, help you recognize your strengths, and work with you to develop practical tools for managing challenges and creating meaningful change. I help my patients set and achieve treatment goals by working collaboratively with them to identify their primary concerns, strengths, and desired outcomes. Together we develop realistic, measurable, and individualized goals that reflect what the patient wants to improve in their daily life.
Ideal clients
My mission is to help you improve your quality of life by providing compassionate, client-centered care. I work collaboratively with each individual to create a tailored self-care routine, deepen personal insight, and uncover strengths that may have gone unnoticed. Together, we will build sustainable skills that support long-term growth. My goal as a clinician is to support individuals as they work through their concerns and navigate their personal journey of growth and decision-making. I strive to help clients develop healthy boundaries, increase motivation for change, strengthen commitment and discipline, and make intentional choices that align with their goals. Through a supportive and collaborative therapeutic relationship, I encourage clients to create realistic goals, take meaningful steps toward achieving them, and develop accountability for their decisions and overall well being.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT involves changing behavior. I will work with the client on setting small goals, practicing assertive communication, creating boundaries, developing routines, increasing positive activities, or breaking a larger goal into manageable steps. Between sessions, I will give homework such as tracking thoughts, practicing a boundary, completing a specific goal, or documenting situations where they responded differently.
