I am a mindfulness practitioner, trauma therapist and nature lover. I believe we are naturally inclined towards healing and wellness and need helps sometimes overcoming obstacles. I like helping people find what works and feels right for them in terms of coping skills and building meaning into their life. I support clients in better understanding their self-talk and how they cope with pain and suffering as well as how they may be increasing their suffering unintentionally. I practice the skills in my own life that I share with clients.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

My goal and intention is to help you get started with therapy and feel comfortable with the process. We will go through a basic intake to gather information. I then help you determine what your goals are and what obstacles you may face. I start with basic CBT and mindfulness homework to further assess patterns of self-talk and how you process experiences. We use those assignments to further fine tune our treatment plan. If this approach does not feel accessible or right for you we will sort that out together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

Experience, I have been in the mental health field for over twenty years the bulk of which was spent working in residential settings with complex dual diagnose, complex trauma and complex family. This has taught me to understand the potential pitfalls of therapy and blind spots therapists can have. My DBT training has provided extensive opportunity for consultation and self-awareness of transference and countertransference and how to use this in therapy. I also have high distress tolerance and don't panic easily or in the face of intense emotions. I have a solid personal practice around wellness, mindfulness and supervision that enables me to continue to grow and manage my own strengths and weaknesses so that I can be more present with clients and see their needs more clearly.
