About me

Hello! I'm AJ, a Licensed Clinical Therapist serving Arizona & Massachusetts. My mission is to provide tailored support for individuals facing a variety of challenges, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment where growth and healing can flourish. In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is called an intake session, we’ll review your paperwork, discuss your goals, and identify key challenges. This session is designed to build trust and create a personalized plan for your journey. Expect a supportive, confidential space where your unique needs are prioritized.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths as a provider lie in my ability to help high-performing and high-crisis professionals increase introspection, identify blind spots, and overcome barriers. Over the past four years, I've empowered clients by providing language to better understand and articulate their experiences, both in and out of work. I specialize in addressing perfectionism, imposter syndrome, prioritizing, and achieving balance—common challenges for my clients. My follow-ups and homework effectively enhance skills outside of sessions. Clients often credit their success to my deep understanding of corporate culture's impact on human behavior, my provision of immediate tools to use after sessions, and my ability to condense therapeutic material into actionable, empowering takeaways. As a self-proclaimed "recovering perfectionist," I practice what I preach, using the same tools I recommend to reduce the impact of high achievement demands in a productivity-driven society. My personal experience and professional expertise combine to offer a relatable, effective approach for my clients.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I specialize in working with high achievers who are navigating the complexities of anxiety, depression, and ADHD. These individuals often feel overwhelmed by their own ambitions and responsibilities, and I am here to help them find balance and regain control. Additionally, I offer dedicated support to mental health professionals who are new to the field. The early stages of a mental health career can be daunting, and I provide guidance and mentorship to help these professionals build confidence and resilience as they embark on their journey to help others. My expertise also extends to improving interpersonal connections. Whether you're looking to enhance your relationships with friends, deepen your bond with your partner, or strengthen family ties, I provide strategies and insights to foster healthier, more meaningful connections.

My treatment methods

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

In Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), I support high-achieving clients navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD and perfectionism by helping them identify their strengths and past successes, and by co-creating small, actionable steps towards their desired future. We focus on what is working in their lives and how they can do more of it. For couples and families, I facilitate conversations that highlight effective communication and collaboration, enabling them to envision and build on positive interactions and solutions they have already experienced. Through this strengths-based approach, clients find empowerment and practical strategies to improve their well-being and relationships.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In CBT, clients benefit by learning to challenge negative thoughts and develop coping skills, which helps them manage anxiety, depression, and perfectionism more effectively. Using TF-CBT with couples and families, clients process trauma's impact on thoughts and behaviors, enhancing communication and resilience, which supports their healing and strengthens their relationships.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

In Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), high-achieving female clients navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, and perfectionism benefit by learning skills in mindfulness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. These skills help them manage intense emotions, reduce self-criticism, and improve focus and productivity. For couples and families, DBT enhances communication and conflict resolution, fostering healthier and more supportive relationships.

I was very skeptical about AJ being able to help me. I definitely had a wall up when starting but little by little she was willing to chip away at it with me. She helped me create my own solutions that now help me navigate difficult situations and I am forever thankful. She gives you the time and space you need to go at your own pace, and for someone like me that is everything. I highly recommend giving her the opportunity to take you down your own path.

I really enjoy working with AJ. She’s incredibly warm and caring but also continues to push me out of my comfort zone. I leave our sessions empowered and I’m really enjoying the process. If I could choose all of the above qualities in regard to AJ, I would!
