Hi! I am a dual-certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP). I graduated with FNP from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center a little over 7 years ago. I practiced in a rural health family practice clinic for 5 years before returning to school to get my PMHNP to provide better care for my clients. I help children and adults ages 5 and up overcome life's challenges and achieve mental well-being.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

During our first session, we will start with introductions, review what symptoms caused you to reach out for treatment, and discuss other symptoms that you have faced or are experiencing. We look at family and medical history to help develop a diagnosis and a custom plan to include treatment and a follow-up regimen. The first appointment will be one hour in length. During follow-up appointments, we will discuss any side effects and your response to treatment. Follow-up sessions will be 30 minutes in length.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Working with a variety of clients in both Family and Mental Health, I have developed the ability to build a solid relationship with my client with healthy boundaries. I practice active listening and believe the client and their wishes are always the center of the appointment. I believe in empowering each client to take the lead in the mental health journey.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with clients of all ages, helping them navigate their journey through life. My clients are often in a position of needing additional service to help utilize the tools they already have or are seeking someone to help them develop tools to work toward a happier and healthier individual.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

During each session, I like to include therapy along with medication management. CBT helps to reduce symptoms while assessing your thoughts, behaviors, and feelings.

Psychoeducation

During each session, psychoeducation is utilized to discuss symptom management, progression of symptoms, treatment efficacy, and provide alternative methods to medication management.
