I’m Michelle McDaniel, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) providing thoughtful, compassionate psychiatric care for children, adolescents, and adults across Florida. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside people through some of the most important moments of their lives—divorce and marriage, pregnancy and loss, parenting transitions, chronic illness, school struggles, caregiver burnout, substance recovery, disability adjustments, and the difficult decisions families sometimes face when a loved one needs a higher level of care. I don’t take that trust lightly. Being invited into someone’s story is something I consider an honor. My approach combines medication management with supportive psychotherapy and practical strategies that help people function better in real life—not just feel better during sessions. I work closely with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood instability, executive-function challenges, trauma-related stress, chronic medical illness, and life transitions that affect emotional health. Many of the clients I work best with are people who: feel overwhelmed but want a structured plan forward have tried treatment before and are still searching for the right fit are balancing work, caregiving, school, or chronic health conditions want both medication guidance and supportive therapeutic insight value collaboration and honesty in treatment decisions I strive to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and supported—not rushed or judged. Whether you are navigating a new diagnosis or continuing a longer journey of care, we work together to build stability, clarity, and confidence over time. This is your journey—and I’m honored to be invited to be part of it. 🤍 I also provide services in English and Spanish.
Our first session is a space to slow down, get to know each other, and begin understanding what has brought you to care at this point in your life. We’ll talk about what you’re experiencing now, what has helped (and what hasn’t), and what you would like to feel different moving forward. Some people arrive with a clear goal. Others arrive feeling overwhelmed or unsure where to begin. Both are completely okay. During this visit, I typically: review your current concerns and symptoms explore your personal history and stressors discuss sleep, focus, mood, anxiety, and daily functioning review any past treatments or medications identify strengths and supports already present in your life begin building a treatment plan together If medication may be helpful, we’ll talk through options thoughtfully and collaboratively. If your goals are more therapy-focused, we’ll start identifying strategies that support stability and progress right away. Many people benefit from a combination of both. Just as important as the clinical evaluation is making sure you feel comfortable working together. The first session is not only for me to learn about you—it’s also for you to decide whether I’m the right provider to support your journey. You can expect a respectful, structured, and supportive environment where your experiences are taken seriously and your goals help guide treatment decisions. You don’t need to prepare anything special before your appointment—just come as you are. This is the beginning of your care journey, and I’m honored to walk alongside you in it. 🤍 Services available in English and Spanish.
One of my greatest strengths as a provider is combining evidence-based psychiatric care with supportive psychotherapy and practical life-focused strategies that help clients feel better and function better. My therapeutic approach is collaborative, structured, and personalized. I integrate: Supportive psychotherapy Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT–informed strategies) Executive-function coaching for ADHD and organization challenges Mindfulness-based coping skills Medication management when appropriate Family- and transition-focused guidance for children, adolescents, and caregivers Rather than focusing only on symptoms, I work with clients to understand how emotional health connects with school, work performance, relationships, caregiving roles, chronic medical conditions, and life transitions. Clients often share that what stands out about my method is that I: listen carefully and without judgment explain treatment options clearly and respectfully create structured, realistic treatment plans combine therapy insight with medication guidance when helpful support both emotional stability and daily functioning remain steady and supportive during difficult life transitions As treatment progresses, many clients experience: improved mood stability reduced anxiety and overwhelm stronger focus and executive functioning better sleep routines increased confidence managing stress and responsibilities clearer direction during life transitions I believe effective care works best as a partnership. My goal is to help each person feel supported, understood, and empowered as we build a treatment plan that fits their life and goals. Services available in English and Spanish. 🤍
I work best with children, adolescents, and adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood instability, chronic stress, and life transitions. Many of the people I support are balancing work, school, caregiving responsibilities, or medical conditions while trying to regain emotional stability and confidence in daily functioning. I also have experience supporting individuals and families through complex situations such as grief and loss, divorce or relationship changes, parenting stress, school challenges, behavioral concerns in children and teens, and adjustment to chronic illness or disability. I regularly work with patients experiencing chronic pain, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, and sleep difficulties that overlap with mental health concerns. My approach is especially helpful for clients who are looking for both medication management and therapy in one place. I focus on practical strategies to improve focus, mood regulation, sleep, and stress tolerance while helping patients build long-term coping skills and resilience. I aim to create a collaborative, respectful space where clients feel heard, supported, and empowered to make meaningful progress toward their personal, academic, and professional goals.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
“I have successfully applied Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help patients identify distorted thinking, modify unhelpful behaviors, and develop healthier coping strategies.” If you want it in a more formal or professional tone for documentation, resume, or clinical summary, here’s another version: “Demonstrated success in applying Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques to reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, and behavioral disturbances, resulting in improved patient functioning and treatment adherence.”
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
The mindfulness-based approach focuses on cultivating present-moment awareness to help patients recognize and manage thoughts, emotions, and stress more effectively. Through techniques such as mindful breathing, grounding, and self-observation, this approach supports emotional regulation, reduces anxiety and depressive symptoms, and enhances overall well-being within the Grow Therapy telehealth setting.
