Welcome! I'm a licensed clinical social worker based in New York City. I have more than six years' experience working with children and adults who have experienced trauma, such as sexual abuse and domestic violence. I provide a space where individuals can speak about their emotions and experiences openly, while also working with them to identify areas of their life that they want to change. I also enjoy supporting individuals with navigating challenging dynamics in relationships and feeling more confident advocating for themselves and setting boundaries.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, I will ask some questions to start getting to know you and your goals for therapy. I will also share about the approaches I use in sessions to get a sense of what might be the best fit for your goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with individuals who not only are facing significant personal challenges while also navigating complex societal and environmental issues, I understand that there is no one-size-fits all approach to therapy. I believe that it is important to collaborate with my clients about their experiences and goals in therapy. I like to be flexible in my approach with the understanding that clients needs and goals will change throughout the therapeutic journey.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

I have used attachment-based approaches with children and adults. I find that exploring an individual's experiences with their primary caregiver(s) can provide insight into how they view relationships currently and their level of satisfaction in their relationships.

Trauma-Focused CBT

I have primarily used Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT) with children and teens, although I have applied its concepts to therapeutic work with adults as well. TF-CBT is used to educate individuals about trauma and its potential effects, support someone in identifying their own trauma responses, and learning coping strategies to feel less overwhelmed and more in control when triggered. I have also worked with individuals on writing a story about their traumatic experiences and increasing their understanding on how these experiences affected them.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

I often utilize mindfulness techniques to increase an individual's awareness of their emotions and physiological reactions both during and outside of sessions. Some examples of techniques I use in sessions are deep breathing, progressive muscle relaxation, visualization, and engaging with the senses.
