Mark Tuvelle
Welcome. I am a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with 13 years of experience providing compassionate, evidence-based mental health care to adolescents and adults. My approach is centered on building a trusting therapeutic relationship where patients feel heard, respected, and empowered in their treatment journey. I specialize in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of a wide range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, ADHD, mood disorders, trauma-related disorders, and other psychiatric concerns. I believe that effective treatment is individualized and may include medication management, supportive therapy, lifestyle interventions, and collaboration with other healthcare professionals when appropriate. My goal is to work alongside each patient to develop a personalized treatment plan that supports emotional wellness, resilience, and improved quality of life. I am committed to providing a safe, nonjudgmental environment where patients can openly discuss their concerns and participate actively in their care. I look forward to partnering with you on your path toward better mental health and well-being.
First session
Your initial appointment is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin developing a personalized treatment plan. During this visit, we will discuss your current concerns, symptoms, medical and mental health history, family history, medications, lifestyle factors, and any previous treatment experiences. The goal of the first appointment is to gain a comprehensive understanding of your mental health needs. Together, we will review your symptoms, explore possible diagnoses, and discuss treatment options. Recommendations may include medication management, therapy referrals, lifestyle modifications, additional assessments, or a combination of approaches tailored to your specific goals. If medication is recommended, we will discuss the potential benefits, risks, side effects, and alternative treatment options so that you can make an informed decision about your care. Please feel free to ask questions and share any concerns you may have. My priority is to provide a supportive, respectful, and collaborative environment where you feel comfortable discussing your mental health and participating actively in your treatment plan. Most initial appointments last approximately 60 minutes and are designed to establish a strong foundation for ongoing care and treatment.

Compassion-Focused
My approach to treatment is grounded in compassion-focused care. This means I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment where you feel heard, respected, and supported throughout your recovery journey. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms or mistakes, we work together to understand the experiences, emotions, and challenges that contribute to your current situation. I believe that lasting change occurs when individuals are treated with empathy, dignity, and understanding, while also being encouraged to develop healthier coping skills, build resilience, and take meaningful steps toward their goals.
