My commitment is to provide a compassionate, genuine atmosphere, which is safe and encourages emotional growth and healing. This allows one to explore deep seeded beliefs, feelings, and natural responses while providing a pathway to embrace change. I’m dedicated to supporting a positive impact on the clients I serve. I’m passionate about working with children, youth, and families. I earned my bachelor's degree in Psychology from Sonoma State University, then went on and pursued a master's degree in Counseling Psychology with an Empathies on Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of San Francisco. I‘ve had the privilege of receiving extensive training and experience. As a result, I have a profound understanding of the family dynamics which influence individuals. I believe that the therapeutic relationship we create is the foundation of our work together. My priority is to create an authentic connection based on trust and understanding.
During the initial session, clients will go over a family history, explore their needs, and also begin to get to know your therapist, and get a feel to see if it's a good fit.
Healing is a journey, that takes a great deal of nurturing and dedication. I truthfully enjoy my work and feel privileged to be able to connect with people in a therapeutic relationship. Trust is vital in this process, which my style promotes, with compassion, empathy, and with my skills, talent and knowledge. We all have our own stories and need a safe place to unravel our thoughts, beliefs, and emotions, on this road to healing and recovery. My niche is my natural ability to connect with others.
I've got a great deal of expertise working with adolescent, transitional age youth and families. Also dealing with people who have had past traumas and dealing with the internal pain of it.
I have had a great tale of training and cognitive behavioral therapy, and use it with all of my clients to a certain extent, helping clients to be aware of their thinking, and gaining skills in shifting their internal beliefs.
As an intern, I was trained in strategic family therapy, and see the family as a system of intertwined parts.
Trauma focus CBT is a fabulous tool for working with people who have had trauma in their life. I have used these skills for many years, working to help people move forward from the pain.
