I am a licensed clinical social worker that has been practicing for the past 11 years. I have a back grown in advance DBT training and EMDR basic training. Although I consider myself as taking an eclectic approach to treatment I lean on DBT and EMDR in my individual work. I strive to make the time that we meet to be a safe, calm, and free from judgment place.
During your first session it may feel a like a little off balance because I will be asking a lot of question. This is an essential part of the process to getter a bigger picture of what all maybe contributing to what is bringing you into our session. I take a warm, compassionate, and mindful approach to this to make this as seamless as possible.

I work best with adult (18+) who struggle with anxiety disorders, depression, personality disorders, trauma and stressors related disorders, self-esteem, phaser of life, adjustment disorders. If you struggle with ability to tolerate stressful situation without making them worse, I am confident that our individual work will be helpful. If you struggle with effective communication DBT skill will help you find your voice and help you increase the ability to get your needs met more effectively with communication. I have received both basic training and advance training through Behavioral Tech Institue in DBT. I have been practicing for over 10 years and DBT is one of my primary treatment interventions I use with clients. Client who struggle with regulating their emotions and would like to develop a healthy relationship with all of their emotions would benefit from DBT skills. What you can expect from our individual work is that will work towards identifying unhealthy behaviors, use daily diary cards to track these behaviors, and chain analysis to help us develop insight into what is influencing this behavior and what can be done about it. We will work on developing distress tolerance skills to get us through crisis. We will develop emotions regulation skills to help us develop a healthy relationship with all our emotions and empower us to regain control. We will also work on developing interpersonal skills to help improve/maintain and end destructive relationship.
Using CBT will help clients to identify and challenge negative or inaccurate thoughts and beliefs that contribute to their problems. Using CBT will focus on changing behavior that contribute to fueling the problem. Will work with patients to identify cognitive distortions, help clients to use daily record of dysfunctional thoughts, thought record journaling, and exposure therapy to treat anxiety related disorders.
In general, i use an eclectic approach to treatment allowing myself to pull from different evidence base modalities of treatment such as ACT, CBT, DBT, EMDR, and Exposure Therapy. This allows me the flexibility to pull from different elements and tailor a treatment plan to fit the needs of the client.
