I am a LPC licensed in the state of Texas. Born and raised here I graduated with my masters from Tarleton State University in 2017. I have been within the mental health field since 2013 in various positions while licensed for 7 years. I love working on helping individuals overcome the stress and strain of life and the torment that a mental health struggle can cause. My goal is to help people become the best versions of themselves and find satisfaction in their life.
In our first session we will meet and start with introductions. It can be overwhelming to be asked a lot of questions but my goal is to get to know you, the struggles you face, and ultimately the goals you want to work on and accomplish. This first session will allow us the opportunity to form a plan of treatment that is best suited for you.
As a therapist I have worked in settings from community mental health, psychiatric hospitals, substance abuse rehabs, and private practice. I will never judge or make you feel less than for what you have and are going through. I am here though this journey with you side by side and will help to guide you through this rough water.
I have a passion for working with clients that feel stuck, hopeless, and are in need of support. I work with those that struggle with the pain of trauma, grief/loss, depression, anxiety, and domestic violence. My job here is to help build rebuild your self-esteem, create a sense of safety in your life again, and feel contentment.
I use Person-centered techniques to really meet you where you are. My goal is to listen and help boost you to the place you want to be. I am here to support you and offer a safe space without judgment or focusing an agenda. I want you to guide the treatment in the direction you need.
EMDR is a therapy that I have utilized when managing trauma and PTSD in individuals. I utilize an online site that allows us to use the bilateral stimulation needed in the therapy. This form of therapy has been show to be extremely helpful in overcoming trauma and I have seen this first hand working with clients.
Sometimes in therapy its more practical to focus on the positive and for me to work with you on creating a plan of action to overcome situational life factors. Together with SFBT we will overcome the barriers you face and transition you into the state you want to be in.
Our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are interconnected with each other. Utilizing CBT approach I will work with you on identifying and challenging your negative thought patterns and behaviors.
