Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first session is a chance for us to get to know each other and talk about what’s been going on for you. We’ll spend time discussing your current concerns, your background, and what you hope to get out of treatment. There’s no pressure to share everything at once — we’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I’ll ask some questions to help me understand your mental health history, medical background, and any treatments or medications you’ve tried before. Together, we’ll explore your goals and start creating a plan that fits your needs — this may include therapy, medication management, or both. The first visit is mostly about listening, learning, and building trust. You’ll have plenty of time to ask questions and talk about what feels most important to you. My goal is for you to leave the session feeling heard, supported, and hopeful about the path ahead.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My Greatest Strengths One of my greatest strengths is creating a calm, nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe to open up and be themselves. I take time to truly listen and understand each person’s unique story before making any recommendations. I also bring a balanced approach to care — combining evidence-based treatment with genuine compassion. Whether we’re working through anxiety, depression, trauma, or mood changes, I focus on helping clients build insight, resilience, and practical coping skills. My background in both physical and mental health allows me to see the whole picture — how the mind and body connect — so I can provide comprehensive, individualized care.

I just had my first appt with Amy and she is absolutely wonderful. Not only does she listen completely , but she shares herself with her patients. I’m looking forward to continuing sessions with her and would definitely recommend her to anyone seeking help or someone one to open up and confide in.

What stood out to me the most is her caring and compassionate nature, and her willingness to help me find a solution to my individual needs. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for someone to “hear” what they are trying to say, and work towards an individual goal to obtain it.

I finally got someone who will actually just listen to me and just hear me out. That makes me feel seen and wants to help me come up with a solution.
