Hi, I am Lindsay. Thank you for taking the time to read my bio. Conflict in life is unavoidable. We can be aware of it slowly creeping up on us or a life changing event can happen suddenly without any hints. These challenges can cause trauma, anxiety, depression or lower our self-esteem. They can impact our relationships or daily activities. They can cause us to look for comfort in all the wrong places. We cannot move forward in life without facing conflicts. Let's work together to manage conflict in healthy ways. I am here to work with individuals or families move forward from conflicts in their life and to help them learn to build positive and peaceful solutions. My counseling techniques are focused in putting the clients unique set of strengths into action while creating solutions to reach their goals.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

First sessions should feel safe and warm. It is a good time to finish up intakes and paperwork that needs to happen. After that the focus is all yours, I promise.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I am not a textbook therapist. I do not believe in a one size fits all approach. I believe in meeting everyone where they are and going from there. I love to use humor when appropriate because therapy can be hard enough.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work with young and middle aged adult populations going to through major life transitions, feeling stuck and or guardians needing helping navigating their school aged child needs (school). This could include topics like self esteem, healthy relationships, navigating changes, family conflicts, relationship conflicts, anxiety and feeling stuck. I also really like working with school staff and have a lot of experience working in schools.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is a solid foundation for helping clients challenge recurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors interact with one another. There are so many wonderful tools to provide successful outcomes with this method.

Motivational Interviewing

I love to incorporate this in with client because I like the empowerment it can give clients and allows them to collaborate in a very person centered atmosphere.

Strength-Based

Everyone has strengths and it so amazing to find them and put them in motion. I take a strengths-based approach by helping clients identify and build on their existing abilities, values, and successes. Rather than focusing solely on problems, I support clients in using their personal strengths as tools for growth, resilience, and lasting change.
