About me

Hi, I'm Grisel Maisonet, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker dedicated to helping adults navigate anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, stress, and self-esteem concerns. I strive to create a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can feel heard and understood. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to your unique needs and goals. Together, we'll identify your strengths, develop practical coping strategies, and work toward meaningful, lasting change. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed or simply looking for support and personal growth, I'm here to help you take the next step toward healing and living a more balanced, fulfilling life.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another and begin building a comfortable, trusting therapeutic relationship. We'll discuss what brought you to therapy, explore your current concerns, review your personal history, and talk about your goals for treatment. You're welcome to share at your own pace—there's no pressure to tell your entire story in one session. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you feel heard and understood. Together, we'll create a plan that is tailored to your unique needs and supports your journey toward healing and personal growth.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation for meaningful change. I bring warmth, empathy, authenticity, and compassion to every session while creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable being themselves. I strive to meet each person where they are, balancing validation with gentle encouragement to help them gain insight, build resilience, and make lasting changes. I recognize that every individual's experiences and goals are unique, so I tailor my approach to fit each client's needs. My goal is to help clients feel heard, empowered, and supported as they work toward healing, personal growth, and a more fulfilling life.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I enjoy working with adults who are ready to better understand themselves, navigate life's challenges, and create meaningful change. My ideal clients may be experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, relationship difficulties, grief, or self-esteem concerns. They don't need to have everything figured out—they simply need a willingness to explore their experiences and work collaboratively toward their goals. Whether you're seeking support during a difficult time or looking to develop healthier coping skills and improve your overall well-being, I strive to provide a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where you can feel supported throughout your journey.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as part of a personalized approach to treatment. Together, we'll identify patterns in your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that may be keeping you stuck. I'll help you develop practical coping skills, challenge unhelpful beliefs, and build healthier ways of responding to life's challenges, while tailoring our work to your unique needs and goals.

Motivational Interviewing

I use Motivational Interviewing to create a supportive, nonjudgmental space where you can explore what's important to you and what may be getting in the way of change. Together, we'll build on your strengths, increase your confidence, and help you move toward meaningful goals at a pace that feels right for you.

Strength-Based

I take a strengths-based approach by focusing on your abilities, resilience, and the qualities that make you uniquely capable of overcoming challenges. Together, we'll build on your strengths while developing new skills and strategies to help you navigate life's difficulties with greater confidence and self-compassion.
