Angela Harris
As a licensed therapist, I strive to create a warm, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel comfortable being their authentic selves. I approach therapy with curiosity, empathy, and genuine respect for each person’s unique experiences and strengths. My therapeutic style is collaborative and eclectic. Rather than offering a one-size-fits-all approach, I work alongside clients to better understand their experiences, identify patterns, develop practical tools, and create meaningful change. I believe therapy is both a space for healing and a place to build self-awareness, confidence, and resilience. Clients can expect me to be supportive and empathetic while also being honest, thoughtful, and willing to gently challenge them when it may help them move forward. My goal is to help each person feel heard, understood, and empowered throughout the therapeutic process.
First session
I hope you leave our first session feeling seen, heard, and genuinely cared for. My goal is for you to feel comfortable being your authentic self, knowing you have a safe and judgment-free space to explore what you’re experiencing. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you begin therapy. My hope is that you leave with a little more clarity, a sense of relief, and the feeling that positive change is possible.
Strengths
My personal experiences have shaped the way I connect with clients and have deepened my understanding of how important it is to feel truly heard and understood. They have taught me the value of compassion, patience, and creating a safe space where people can be open about their experiences without fear of judgment. While every person’s journey is different, my experiences have helped me approach each client with greater empathy and an appreciation for the courage it takes to seek support. I meet clients where they are, honor their individual stories, and support them in discovering their own strengths and capacity for growth. These experiences have also reinforced my belief that therapy is not about having all the answers, but about creating a genuine connection and helping clients as they navigate their own path toward healing and meaningful change.
Ideal clients
I work best with individuals who are ready to better understand themselves and create meaningful, lasting change. Many of my clients are experiencing anxiety, self-doubt, relationship challenges, perfectionism, burnout, or difficulty navigating life transitions. Together, we work toward greater self-trust, healthier boundaries, stronger relationships, emotional well-being, and a deeper sense of connection to who they are and how they want to live. I welcome clients who are ready to approach therapy as a collaborative process and take steps toward creating a life that feels more authentic, balanced, and fulfilling.
Treatment methods
Eclectic
My approach is eclectic, meaning I draw from a variety of therapeutic modalities and techniques to meet you where you are and support your unique goals. Rather than relying on one specific method, I thoughtfully integrate different approaches based on what feels most helpful for you. Our work may include exploring patterns and past experiences, building awareness of thoughts and emotions, developing practical coping tools, strengthening relationships and boundaries, and creating space for deeper self-reflection and growth. Your needs may change throughout the therapeutic process, and our work can evolve with you. I aim to create therapy that is both compassionate and intentional—balancing meaningful insight with practical tools you can carry into your everyday life
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help you better understand the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we’ll explore patterns that may be contributing to anxiety, self-doubt, stress, or other challenges and begin identifying ways to respond differently. CBT can help you notice unhelpful thought patterns, develop a more balanced perspective, and build practical tools for navigating difficult emotions and situations. Our work may include identifying patterns of thinking, challenging beliefs that no longer serve you, practicing new ways of responding, and developing skills you can use beyond the therapy room.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I incorporate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help you build practical skills for navigating emotions, relationships, and challenging situations with greater confidence and balance. DBT can be especially helpful when emotions feel intense, overwhelming, or difficult to manage. Together, we may work on skills for regulating emotions, tolerating distress, communicating more effectively, and staying present during difficult moments. I also incorporate the DBT principle of balancing acceptance with change—honoring where you are today while supporting you in creating meaningful changes for the future.
