Zakree Buccitelli
I'm well-versed in a variety of disciplines due to what life has demanded of me for my own recovery and wellness. I have spent time as a personal trainer, mentor, musician, and professional counselor. Having both personally and professionally navigated the domains of physical, mental, and spiritual health, I'm of firm belief that a good clinician will address every aspect of person, and not reduce them to a collection of symptoms or confine them to a label. It's my conviction that you can't teach what you don't know, so I've taken great care to prove to myself that my clinical expertise and training is validated by the road I've walked before I entered the field. I have a MA in Clinical Counseling from Ashland University, a BA in Theology from Malone University, PT certification from NASM, 12+ years sober, and 3+ years of professional counseling experience.
First session
Client's say they feel quickly heard and understood. They say they often leave with hope for a path forward, because they have often received feedback and information they have not known before.
Strengths
I've heard a recurring term from clients throughout the years: authentic. What you see is what you get with me. That does not mean abrasive or obtuse. It just means that I never put on masks or hide behind titles. People's feedback suggests that it's obvious I genuinely care, and that my feedback and support is rooted in lived experience, not in theory.
Ideal clients
Client's that are oriented towards action are the best fit for my style. I provide empathy, understanding, and insight that is most effective if acted upon in pragmatic action. If a client and I spend time in analysis, it's to determine a path forward, not for the sake of insight in and of itself. I find it effective to assume roles/dispositions like teacher and coach as much as I assume the role of therapist. I'm geared towards motivation, appropriate knowledge to act upon it, and support while someone finds success while working through set backs.
Treatment methods
Integrative
I have credentialing and experience in a diverse set of disciplines. I chose the path of integrative work in order to address the entirety of the human person. I have found that narrowly-focused approaches often miss critical pieces of health and wellness.
