I have struggled with anxiety and depression first hand and hope to bring my personal and professional experiences in to help. Every person is unique, so every therapeutic experience is unique. I like to use a Cognitive Behavioral inspired approach to examine patterns and behaviors to find positive exceptions to build off of. While I was in grad school I worked in multiple levels of treatment so I have nearly 10 years of mental health experience.
I am very client centered and want to hear specific areas you are struggling so we can create some coping skills and a treatment plan.
I am a very personable therapist. I will be upfront and confront negative patterns as needed. I often provide psychoeducation on the nuances of mental illness and how it manifests.
More people struggle with anxiety and depression than would like to admit it. It can also feel very isolating and hopeless at times. No matter who you are, it can be important to talk to someone who can help with processing your experiences. If you are motivated for change and looking for someone to keep you accountable, you have come to the right place.

I very much feel that Amanda understands me and my life experiences. She’s very sympathetic, and I just feel like a lot of our life outlooks are pretty similar, which I find comforting and it makes it easier to open up to her.
