Welcome! My name is Valerie and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and a EMDR Trained Therapist in the state of Texas. I hold years of experience working with children, adolescents and adults from various backgrounds. My expertise includes trauma, depression, anxiety, grief and loss, coping skills, self-esteem, relationships/familial issues, major life changes, and behavioral concerns. I strive to provide my clients a safe and comfortable space where they can explore their thoughts and feelings while feeling supported. My goal is is to be an added support as you navigate through your journey of healing.
I understand the importance of allowing time to establish and build trust with each client, therefore, my approach includes providing all clients a comfortable space to process thoughts and feelings free of judgement. It is important to know that you are not alone. You have taken the first step in search of healing and I would be more than willing to walk alongside you on your journey.
Telling our story isn't always easy. I strive to provide a place of comfort and understanding allowing the client to share as much as they are comfortable while during the process of gaining their trust.
Through the therapeutic process clients will be the navigator throughout their journey of healing. Through therapeutic interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR Therapy, as well as many others, Clients will be provided the support and guidance to process such emotions, feelings, and/or traumatic events. The majority of my experience includes working with individuals who have experienced trauma, are experiencing symptoms as they relate to anxiety and/or depression.
