My name is Lamin Tunkara. I am a dual board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) and Family Nurse Practitioner with over 17 years of experience in patient care. I specialize in treating a wide range of mental health conditions, including Anxiety, Depression, ADHD/ADD, PTSD/trauma, Bipolar Disorder, Postpartum Depression, Panic Disorder, Insomnia, Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder, and OCD. My approach to mental healthcare is grounded in compassion and collaboration. I combine evidence-based medication management with psychotherapeutic techniques such as Brief Supportive Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Cognitive Behavioral Strategies. I also integrate Mindfulness-Based Interventions, and psychiatric evaluations to promote healing and mental wellness. I am committed to fostering a strong therapeutic alliance built on trust. My goal is to create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment where every individual feels valued, heard, and supported throughout their mental health journey.
From our first session, my clients can expect a welcoming and supportive conversation where I will take time to understand their history, current concerns, and personal goals. I will explain the treatment options available, whether that's therapy, medication management, or a combination of approaches, and work with the clients to develop an initial plan tailored to their needs. The first session is designed to help clients feel heard and understood.

I am best positioned to support adults 18 to 99 years who are feeling overwhelmed by mental health challenges such as ADHD/ADD, Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, PTSD, Panic Disorder, OCD, and Schizophrenia. I work with individuals and families who are motivated to better understand themselves and make meaningful changes, using a collaborative approach that combines evidence-based therapies with personalized medication management to support lasting mental well-being.
