New to Grow
I provide Autism, ADHD & neurotypical support using ACT, CBT, and DBT skills. I work with you to build your confidence, relationships, and sense of peace. I offer empathy and accountability to help you manage tough emotions, stress, relationships, and life changes. Together, we calm "fight or flight" responses as you learn and use coping skills and improve communication skills.
During intake, we discuss the administrative stuff for a few minutes; then delve into what your goals are for therapy, and how we will address them moving forward. I work to truly understand your goals, and the interventions that best work for your circumstances. The intake session gives us the opportunity to get to know each other, and know what to expect in future sessions!
Someone once asked me, "Do you consider yourself broken?" I think every person has experiences that leave them feeling bruised and broken; and healing takes time and other resources; we're not the same afterward, but does that mean we're fixed? I work on my healing individually and consistently, and I assure you, our sessions are focused on you and your healing. It's a process, with moments of breakthrough peace and insights, and moments of painful truths. The Savior once said, "The whole need no physician." As a Christian, I don't want to get to a point where I don't look to him for guidance, strength and healing. I have a great deal of peace in my life, and have experienced profound healing. That is what I work toward helping my clients experience as well.
I work with older teens and adults in helping them to overcome current stressors in their lives and work toward healing and capability. Individuals often struggle to build relationships with others, I work with individuals to help them realize where the struggles are in their lives, and how to work through those struggles and build relationship skills. I also work to help people develop coping skills when dealing with grief, stress or other heartaches; to help them have greater peace and healing.
