New to Grow
My name is Dr. Frank Gorritz. I currently hold 8 years of practice with my Master's Degree in Clinical Counseling and Psychology and my Doctoral Degree in Counselor Education and Supervision. While I specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, and minority stress, I am here to work with you across diverse lived experiences and concerns, as well as explore any goals that are important to you and your healing. Know that this space is an open door for you, one where we can experience empowerment, resilience, pain, and celebration with no judgment. Just a space for you.
For our first session, I love to spend some time getting to know you, even the small things, that make up who you are. Together, we will discuss informed consent and confidentiality to explore any questions you have about our counseling space together. From there, we will explore your presenting concerns and goals that you would like to see in your therapy. I am also intentional about holding space for direct counseling work during our first session, so that you know exactly what to expect if you wish to continue therapy with me. Lastly, I take gentle care to end each session to check in and see how you felt about our time together today, assess for safety before you leave, and plan for our next session together.
For reach of my sessions, I bring openness, creativity, compassion, and critical thought processes to every space, to give you the best care you deserve.
My ideal client is you. With no judgment and regardless of your background, I am here to be present with you as we explore each of your uniqueness that makes up your personal life journey. Counseling is not always easy, yet I am here to hold your hand as we move through difficult topics, memories, and even moments together. Here in this space, there is nothing we can't face together, even in the face of no solutions. Together, we find hope and use it to move forward.

I identify as
Culturally Sensitive Therapy
Culturally Sensitive Therapy responds to the unique identities, lived experiences, and preferences you have for therapy. Whether you prefer traditional counseling therapies, eclectic therapies, or therapies that are relevant to who you are and the support you need, I have the right multifaceted and intersectional counseling approach you are looking for.
Gender-affirming therapy
Based on Feminist, Queer, and Intersectional therapeutic practices, gender-affirming therapy consists of questioning what is often normalized regarding who is seen as normal, who is seen as powerful, and who is seen as important in our social perceptions. Sadly, these norms leave out many groups of people, leading us to question our self-concept and self-worth. Here, we can explore and process harmful norms, processes, and systems that impact our sense of wellness. Here, this is a space where you can belong and just be you!
Compassion Focused
Compassion-Focused Therapy reminds us the importance of self-compassion, especially when we are struggling with anxiety, depression, and self-critical thoughts. Through Compassion-Focused Therapy, together we can find ways to practice balancing and challenging harmful thoughts with kind thoughts. This helps us practice the kindness and self-compassion we all deserve.
Couples Counseling
Through a relational-cultural approach, my approach to relationship counseling is to affirm each partner and their experiences in the relationship. Together, we can process and address challenges related to communication, trust, conflict, and connection. Through our work, we can engage in processing connections and disconnections that impact our relationship dynamics, as well as engage in ongoing dialogue building work to help each other understand our partners to develop the relationship forward.
Humanistic
Through Person-Centered, Gestalt, and Existential theories, our humanistic counseling can explore your full humanity. Specifically, our time together can embrace, actualize, and process your feelings whether we are processing about pain related to past events, or struggles with emotions as we face the future. Together, we can be brave and explore the unknown and face pain together.
