I have been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for over 10 years and have a diverse background working primarily with adults and seniors. I have provided support to individuals with developmental disabilities, been an advocate for the geriatric population, worked with individual with chronic pain and terminal illness and provided counseling and resources to their families and loved ones. As a psychotherapist, I've journeyed with clients as they seek to address issues in their life and learn how to achieve their goals, feel better, and experience hope for the future.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Establish an environment of safety and discuss confidentiality. This is a time to get to know each other, a time to ask questions. I would set the tone by introducing myself and my background as well as discussing how therapy works. We would discuss what to expect as well as what their goals and expectations are for their therapy sessions. I would encourage the client to tell me about themselves, and what brings them to therapy. I would encourage dialog on what the client's experience with therapy has been and what has worked and what has not in the past. What are their communication and learning styles, do they prefer a structured or unstructured therapy session, etc. I believe that therapy is a way of guiding clients to achieve understanding in what they want out of life and how to accomplish it.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I have experience with providing support to those in the midst of grief and loss, accompanying them in their journey of self-discovery, processing their grief, and acceptance of their feelings.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I am best able to provide services to adult and seniors of all backgrounds with presenting problems of anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, grief and loss, life transitions, workplace challenges, and other various life adjustments.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

With CBT, a person's thoughts, feelings and behaviors are intertwined and the focus is on replacing negative thoughts with cognitive restructuring. This has helped clients to develop coping mechanisms to manage their symptoms of anxiety and depression. I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, grief and bereavement counseling, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing while focusing on client's learning style and where they are emotionally.
