I am a compassionate, experienced professional with 27 years experience in mental health, medical Pediatrics and various specialties within psychiatry. I am a mother, veteran and have a longtime passion for mental health and wellness. I have worked in residential facilities, inpatient psychiatric units, outpatient services such as partial-hospital programs (PHP), Intensive Outpatient programs (IOP), military mental health programs, done school nursing, worked for insurance companies, trained at UT Southwestern Medical Center, Children's Medical Center, freestanding psychiatric hospitals such as Mesa Springs, worked for Texas Health Systems Psychiatry Centers and more. I have taught parent education classes, trained hundreds of psychiatric nurses and learned from psychiatric attending physicians. I work alongside many psychiatrists who are there to assist me with complicated cases and who I share and consult week weekly to ensure I am providing the best care possible.

My approach to treatment includes a combination of life and coping skills with medication and nutritional balance. I focus on patient-centered care,listen intently and provide an array of knowledge based on proven research and 27 years of experience in the mental health field.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I use evidence-based tools such as depression, anxiety, and concentration scales to assist with making optimal treatment decisions. I order lab/blood work and other diagnostic tests to ensure the best possible outcomes. I enjoy educating and teaching clients and their families so that treatment decisions are more like to be adhered to for improvement.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My specialty is treating Anxiety, Depression, treatment resistant depression, PTSD, TRAUMA, BEHAVIORAL CONCERNS, ODD, SELF-INJURY AND SUICIDE. I also treat eating disorders, substance use and gender dysphagia, gender identity concerns, and offer Christian counseling services.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

Depression, anxiety, ADHD, Mood disorders, especially in children, namely DMDD, school anxiety, suicidal thoughts, self-injury, nicotine cessation, parent/child conflicts, gender dysphoria and family conflicts due to gender preferences, OCD and anger management are common mental health concerns I focus on and have experience helping with individuals and families with regularly. I combine psychotherapy with medication management to find solutions for optimal health.
