New to Grow
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I have been practicing for about five years. I have worked mostly with children, teens, families and individuals. Much of my experience was gained at a local community health agency serving youth and families. As a therapist, I enjoy getting to know people and being a part of helping them feel better and more in control of their lives. It is rewarding to be a support for clients who are going through tough times and watch them heal. I live in Northern California with my family, I'm a mom, I love dogs, being outdoors and spending time with friends.
I understand that starting therapy can feel overwhelming. During our first session we will focus on getting to know each other, no pressure. I will tell you a little about what to expect from me in therapy, go over some logistics, and answer any questions you might have. Our first session looks a little different than other sessions because I will gather background information and ask you about the concerns that are bringing you to therapy. If you don't totally know, it's OK, we will figure it out together. You don't have to answer any questions you don't want to, I keep everything we discuss confidential.
My clients have told me they like that I keep our sessions conversational and down to earth. I've been told by clients they like that I offer different perspectives or pose questions that help them consider other options they had not thought of. Other clients have appreciated having a space to talk things out and come to their own conclusions in a supportive environment. I focus on small manageable changes that add up to bigger changes. I provide education about mental health issues because I feel that understanding different topics like anxiety, depression, grief, or trauma can help clients feel more in control of how they feel.
I work best with people who are ready to make changes and genuinely curious to learn more about themselves. You don’t need to have everything figured out—just being willing to reflect, explore your thoughts and feelings, and try new ways of handling challenges is enough to begin. I feel most comfortable working with adults, young adults, teens, and parents, and I aim to create a supportive space where real growth can happen.
Trauma Informed Care
I take a trauma-informed approach, which means I understand how past experiences can affect how you feel and respond today, and I focus on helping you feel safe and supported. We’ll go at your pace, working together in a way that feels comfortable and respectful while building tools to help you move forward.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
I create a warm, down-to-earth space where you can show up as you are and feel genuinely heard and understood. I’ll work with you in a way that feels comfortable, helping you sort through what’s on your mind and find a path forward that feels right for you.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT to help you notice and challenge unhelpful thought patterns that can fuel anxiety and depression. Together, we’ll build practical tools and habits to shift those patterns, improve your mood, and help you feel more in control day to day.
Grief Therapy
I provide a space where you can work through your loss and express your feelings openly. We focus on understanding your grief and finding practical ways to adjust while honoring what matters to you.
Psychoeducation
I use psychoeducation to help you understand how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors work, so you can make sense of what you’re experiencing. This gives you practical knowledge and tools to manage challenges more effectively in your daily life.
