My biggest strengths as a clinician are my ability to develop a strong therapeutic rapport, listening skills, problem solving, empathy, and self awareness with my clients. It takes time to develop a working relationship with a stranger. But it's my goal to make sure I create a safe space for all of my clients. Listening is another important skill of my mines. I feel it is extremely important to utilize active listening skills to hear both verbal and nonverbal communication from a client. Self-awareness and being self-aware has helped me become a better clinician. There will be times when I am not the best fit for a client. A client may need a higher level of treatment. Or they may just not feel that "connection". That is perfectly ok.

As a therapist implementing cognitive behavioral therapy to help clients break down overwhelming problems into small, manageable parts, thus gradually adjusting how an individual in treatment thinks, feels, and reacts in tough situations.
Implementing Solution Focused Brief Treatment (SFBT), I assist my clients to achieve their goals through setting concise and realistic goals. I have primarily utilized this treatment method to treat school-related problems, family and couple conflicts, and even addiction. SFT usually takes six to eight sessions (brief treatment) held weekly for an hour each. Each client has his or her own view/vision of how they would like to live their lives and what would be different in their preferred vision of the future. During this treatment method, it is my responsibility to assist a client in identifying what works well for them now, or what has worked in the past for similar challenges. At times, new approaches to problems are encouraged as as way to experiment with possible responses to new challenging circumstances.
