New to Grow
Welcome to Grow Therapy! I'm looking forward to working with you to support your goals and enhance your overall well-being. My approach draws on evidence-based therapeutic practices to help individuals better understand their emotions, develop healthier coping strategies, and create meaningful, lasting change. The primary approaches I use are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). CBT focuses on identifying and challenging unhelpful or distorted thought patterns to improve emotional well-being and promote healthier behaviors. DBT emphasizes building practical skills in four key areas: mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. I have experience working with adults facing a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, trauma, relationship challenges, and co-occurring substance use disorders. My goal is to provide a collaborative, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where you can feel heard, build on your strengths, and work toward the changes that matter most to you.
During our first session, we'll spend time getting to know each other and discussing what brings you to therapy. I'll ask about your primary reasons for seeking support, as well as your goals, so we can determine the best path forward and ensure that I am the right therapist to help you through this next chapter of your life. We'll also review some of your personal history, current concerns, and other background information that will help me better understand your experiences. I'll share information about my therapeutic approach, what you can expect from our work together, and answer any questions you may have. By the end of our first session, we'll have the opportunity to mutually decide whether it feels like a good fit and whether we'd like to continue working together.
I believe therapy is most effective when it is a collaborative process. My goal is to ensure that our sessions are meaningful, supportive, and aligned with your needs. I welcome your feedback throughout our work together and will adjust my approach when appropriate to help create a therapeutic environment where you feel safe, heard, and valued. I strive to balance structure with flexibility, recognizing the importance of addressing both the practical challenges and emotional experiences that arise in everyday life. Our work together will be growth-oriented, with regular check-ins to assess your progress, celebrate successes, and make adjustments as needed to ensure we are moving toward your goals.
My ideal clients are adults who are ready to better understand themselves, develop healthier coping strategies, create meaningful change in their lives, and are looking for a supportive, collaborative space to work through these concerns. I work well with individuals who appreciate a balance of practical skill-building and deeper emotional exploration. Whether you're feeling overwhelmed, navigating a major life transition, or simply feeling stuck, we'll work together to identify your strengths, build effective coping skills, and develop a plan that aligns with your personal goals and values. You don't have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. If you're open to learning new strategies, reflecting on your experiences, and actively participating in the therapeutic process, we'll work together to help you build resilience, improve your well-being, and create lasting change.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based therapy that helps individuals identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to emotional distress. By developing healthier ways of thinking and practical coping strategies, CBT can help improve mood, reduce symptoms, and support lasting positive change.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is an evidence-based therapy that helps individuals build skills to manage intense emotions, cope with stress, improve relationships, and stay present in the moment.
