Hello! I am Natalia a proud Colombian cis gender heterosexual woman, living in the United Sates for the last 14 years. I am a forever admirer of life, humans, and our lovely planet. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of California. I genuinely enjoy helping others to connect with their truest self, with their essence, to find answers within themselves, achieve peace, and happiness. My approach is warm and curious, free of shame and judgement. My priority is the therapeutic relationship which is charged with compassion and empathy; I provide a safe environment for both of us to find your path to change and healing.
During our first session, I will be asking questions to better understand your current needs and to formulate a treatment plan, so that your goals and expectations are clearly set. Certainly, I will pace the questions to your level of comfort, we will take our time to build the therapeutic relationship needed to do "the work". I will also share further about my approach and how would I hope we can work together.
I have a holistic approach, I draw from a variety of academic, evidenced based models and theories as well as from my life experience, and spiritual and ancient traditions to work with the person(s) in front of me and support their unique path to healing and happiness.
I tailor treatment to the person or the couple in front of me. In my practice the main client is the therapeutic relationship we create in the room. To build and nurture the relationship I utilize all what I have been trained on, and who I am. From training I draw from different theories and approaches, I mix western and eastern approaches; I am trained in EMDR, Sex Therapy, CBT, and I have knowledge and love using parts work (IFS), and somatic experiencing; I also incorporate my knowledge of energetic work learned through my curiosity about energy and spirituality. Lastly, I take from my living experience as a woman CIS gender, Latina, immigrant, and survivor of trauma and vicarious trauma to inform treatment.
