Hi, I’m Kendra Blackwell, a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and founder of Sacred Path Psychiatry. I specialize in helping individuals navigate anxiety, depression, and life transitions with a compassionate, personalized approach to care. I combine medication management with supportive therapy to help you feel more balanced, confident, and in control of your mental health. My goal is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered on your journey to wellness.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During your first session, you can expect a relaxed and supportive conversation focused on getting to know you. We’ll talk about your current concerns, symptoms, medical and mental health history, and what you hope to gain from treatment. I’ll ask questions to better understand your experiences and may begin discussing possible diagnoses and treatment options, including therapy approaches and, if appropriate, medication. There’s no pressure—you can share at your own pace. By the end of the session, we’ll work together to create a personalized plan so you feel clear, supported, and confident about your next steps.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What stands out about my approach is the balance between clinical expertise and genuine compassion. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all model—I tailor each treatment plan to the individual, combining medication management with practical, evidence-based therapy techniques. I focus on helping clients not just feel better, but function better in their daily lives. My approach is collaborative, supportive, and goal-oriented, with an emphasis on building coping skills, emotional resilience, and long-term stability. Clients often appreciate that they feel truly heard, understood, and actively involved in their care, which leads to more meaningful and lasting results.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to serve individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, and life transitions, particularly women navigating hormonal changes, caregiving stress, and shifting roles. Many of my clients feel overwhelmed, emotionally drained, or stuck in patterns of overthinking and self-doubt, yet remain motivated to improve their mental health and overall quality of life. I work well with clients who are open to self-reflection and ready to develop healthier coping strategies, even if they are unsure where to start. My approach supports those seeking emotional balance, increased resilience, and a stronger connection to their personal values. My goal is to help clients gain clarity, build confidence, and create meaningful, sustainable changes that align with the life they want to live.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy in my practice to help patients manage anxiety, depression, and life stressors by improving psychological flexibility. Rather than focusing only on reducing symptoms, ACT helps patients change how they relate to their thoughts and emotions. I incorporate techniques such as mindfulness, cognitive defusion, and values clarification to help patients stay present and engage in meaningful behaviors. This approach is especially helpful for individuals who feel stuck in patterns of avoidance or overthinking. ACT integrates well with both psychotherapy and medication management, allowing me to provide a more holistic, patient-centered approach that supports long-term emotional wellness and resilience.
