Hello, I’m Yolette, a board-certified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. I provide virtual psychiatric evaluations and medication management for adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, and sleep difficulties. My approach is warm, collaborative, and centered on understanding you as a person—your concerns, your strengths, and what you hope to change. My background in behavioral health nursing shapes the way I listen and care for clients. I take time to explain treatment options, answer questions, and work with you to create a plan that fits your needs. When medication is appropriate, we discuss its potential benefits and risks and follow your progress together. I also incorporate psychoeducation, motivational interviewing, and practical strategies to support daily well-being. I offer care in English, French, and Haitian Creole, and I value creating a welcoming space where you feel heard, respected, and comfortable asking for help.

First session

Our first appointment is a chance to get to know you and understand what brings you to care. We will discuss your symptoms, medical and mental health history, current medications, past treatment experiences, and goals. You will have time to ask questions and share what matters most to you. Together, we will discuss initial impressions and treatment options, including whether medication may be appropriate. My goal is for you to leave feeling heard, with a clearer understanding of the next steps and a follow-up plan.

Strengths

I bring attentive listening, a calm presence, and a collaborative approach to each appointment. My behavioral health nursing background helps me consider how emotional symptoms, physical health, sleep, and everyday stress affect one another. I explain treatment options clearly and welcome questions so you can participate in decisions about your care. Together, we identify practical goals and review what is helping, what remains difficult, and whether your treatment needs adjustment. I also offer care in English, French, and Haitian Creole.

Ideal clients

I work with adolescents and adults seeking help with anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, or sleep difficulties. They may feel overwhelmed, struggle with concentration or mood changes, or want to better understand their symptoms and treatment options. I welcome people seeking psychiatric evaluation or medication management, whether they are starting treatment or reviewing an existing plan. Together, we work toward practical goals such as improved daily functioning, more restful sleep, and greater emotional stability, with care that respects their preferences, culture, and experiences.

Treatment methods

Motivational Interviewing

I use motivational interviewing to help you explore your goals, concerns, and any uncertainty about treatment. Through open conversation and attentive listening, we identify what matters most to you and discuss manageable next steps. I incorporate this approach into psychiatric evaluations and medication management so that decisions about your care reflect your needs and preferences.

Solution-Focused Brief Treatment

I help you identify practical goals, recognize what is already working, and build on those successes. During our appointments, we explore small, achievable steps you can take between visits and review how those changes affect your daily life.

Strength-Based

I focus on your existing strengths, coping skills, and sources of support. Together, we explore how you can use these resources to address current challenges and take an active role in your care.
