Hi, I'm Yoana! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and school psychologist who has been helping youth of all ages, adults, and families for over 20 years. I specialize in helping people reclaim their lives and build resilience. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, or are working through overwhelming life experiences, I want to help you find the tools that work best for you, so you can tackle life’s challenges and start creating the fulfilling life you deserve.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Our first session will focus on building rapport and trust, creating a safe space where you feel comfortable to share your story. Together, we will identify the changes you want to make and establish clear goals, outlining how our work together can help you achieve them. I will also take time to discuss my therapeutic style to ensure we’re a good match and that you feel confident and comfortable moving forward.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As your therapist, my goal is to create a space where you feel truly heard, valued, and supported. I approach our work together with positivity and without judgment, ensuring you can express yourself freely. I’ll meet you exactly where you are on your journey and collaborate with you to design a treatment plan tailored to your unique needs and goals. My focus is on understanding your experiences with empathy and creating a welcoming environment that fosters trust and growth. Together, we’ll navigate challenges and work toward positive change at a pace that feels right for you.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

If you’ve been feeling stuck or like nothing is working, things can get better, and you don’t have to face it alone. I’m here to support you in reclaiming your life, building resilience, and finding meaningful relief. Whether you're navigating anxiety, depression, or challenging life experiences, we’ll work together to identify tools and strategies tailored to you, so you can create the fulfilling life you deserve. If traditional talk therapy hasn’t brought the progress you hoped for or you’re seeking a method that doesn’t require having to share or retell painful memories, Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) offers an effective alternative. This technique has the potential to provide profound and lasting relief.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

We work together to pinpoint problematic thinking patterns and behaviors. I teach clients how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are interconnected, and together, we develop techniques like mindfulness, problem-solving, and reframing negative thoughts into positive ones.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

By creating a safe, non-judgmental space clients learn how to navigate intense emotions and build skills for better emotional regulation, interpersonal relationships, and distress tolerance through practical skills like mindfulness, managing distress and balancing emotions. I support clients in identifying patterns of behavior to develop healthier strategies.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

My approach emphasizes helping clients identify their strengths and focus on solutions rather than dwelling on problems. We explore past successes and existing resources that can be used to overcome challenges. Our time together is spent goal oriented and future-focused, often leading to quicker results by taking small, manageable steps toward the desired outcome.

Trauma-Focused CBT

Establishing trust is crucial to ensure that clients feel comfortable discussing sensitive topics at their own pace. We work together to understand trauma, its effects and the Cognitive Behavioral framework and I gradually help clients confront and make sense of their traumatic experiences through structured exercises. I help clients build coping skills by equipping them with techniques to manage distress, regulate emotions, and address negative thought patterns. I also work with caregivers to provide them with support and improve family communication.
