Welcome! I’m glad you’re here. Whether you’re starting counseling for the first time or returning after time away, my goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where you can grow. I look forward to walking alongside you as you take this step. Over my 20 years as a counselor I have worked with a variety of people. Rather than providing an exhaustive list, the populations I have served include: Children impacted by military life and the unique challenges they face within the school environment. Adults and children navigating life transitions and challenges such as divorce, academic pressures, overcommitment, relationship difficulties, unhealthy coping patterns, parenting challenges, and career development. Families raising and supporting children with special needs. Youth residing in residential treatment facilities.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I would love to say the first session will simply be about getting to know you, building rapport, and learning what brings you to counseling. While that is certainly a large part of our time together, I may also need to ask some questions required for insurance and documentation purposes. Because of that, the conversation may not always feel as natural as future sessions, but my goal is to make this process as comfortable and welcoming as possible. An example of this is my friend once said she wasn’t sure about the therapist she talked to. The therapist asked if she had ever received a diagnosis. My friend thought that was odd. I explained that the therapist was likely required to ask for billing purposes.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I am a very relatable counselor. In my 20 years of practice, I have heard many stories and walked alongside people as they navigated a wide variety of experiences. A person is more than one story or scenario. I am often told that my presence helps create a sense of calm and peace. My goal is to provide a space where you can be your authentic self. Im not easily offended- that’s not a challenge! It simply means you don’t have to be guarded. You can be honest and open what you’re experiencing. I am compassionate and kind. I also value accountability. While being honest with a counselor is very important being honest with yourself is absolutely necessary. That honesty is what makes growth possible.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I have dedicated my career to supporting children, teens, and their families. My work centers on helping young people navigate challenges while working with parents to provide perspective and guidance. I understand the stress a full life can create and strive to help individuals and families find balance, resilience, and hope. I have experience with younger adults working to establish themselves in their careers and navigating relationships. All types of life transitions can lead a person to look for support and perspective. I’m happy to support you on your journey
