We see children as young as 5 years old. How is the school year going? Is your child struggling academically, socially, or emotionally? Are you dreading incoming phone calls between the hours of 8AM and 3PM? Have you wondered or has a teacher suspected your child might be depressed or have ADHD? We can still turn this around, establish services for your child today! Report cards will be coming with time to improve before the end of the school year. Schedule an appointment to discuss your concerns and child's needs. Together we will plan for success! We provide psychiatric evaluation of children (ages 5-20) and adults (21-55), medication management, CBT, parenting support, and service coordination/referrals.
Think of our first session together as getting to know each other. We will do a comprehensive assessment to evaluate the domains of Person, Home & School/Work to develop a picture of where you have started, where you are, where you would like to be, and any barriers along that pathway. This is done primarily through history taking-lots of questions, answers, conversation, reflection-but may include obtaining additional information via school reports, questionnaires, and contact with previous providers if indicated-with your consent of course.

Other specialties
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have been incorporating elements of CBT for years to help patients identify and challenge negative thoughts and behaviors preventing them from achieving the outcomes they want. CBT is a practical parenting resource and is very useful in supporting behavior modification in children.
Psychoeducation
Lately, I find myself providing lots of psychoeducation about medications, social services, and resources to support learning. The insight I have gained through my years of experience interacting with schools/districts across levels of care has been a great resource to parents navigating advocacy for their child who is struggling in school. Psychoeducation is the therapeutic process of empowering individuals and families with information and skills to understand and manage their mental health needs, including but not limited to understanding the implications of a diagnosis, treatment options, and available supports/resources. Psychoeducation is integral to parents/family members/caregivers developing insight into managing symptoms/behaviors and improves overall outcomes.

I saw Habiba for the first time today and had a very positive experience. She was thorough, knowledgeable, and took the time to truly get to know me as a patient. I felt heard, respected, and confident in her approach to care. I would highly recommend her to anyone seeking thoughtful, comprehensive mental health support.
