New to Grow
Hi, I’m LaShena Haynes, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 14 years of experience in the mental health field. I offer personalized online therapy across Texas and Louisiana—helping you build resilience, find balance, and lead a meaningful, fulfilling life. Clients should know that I am committed to creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you can be your authentic self. My approach is collaborative—I don’t see myself as the expert on your life, but rather as someone who walks alongside you, helping you gain insight, build skills, and move toward the changes you want. I value honesty, respect, and openness in our work together. I may gently challenge you at times, but always with care and your growth in mind. My goal is to help you feel heard, understood, and empowered, while also providing practical tools you can use in your everyday life.
Clients can expect their first session to feel safe, free, and welcoming—a space where you can show up exactly as you are, without pressure or judgment. We’ll gently explore your current concerns, any important background that feels relevant, and what you’re hoping to get out of therapy. Together, we’ll begin identifying goals and what support might look like for you moving forward. There’s no “right” way to start therapy. Whether you come in with clear goals or just a feeling that something isn’t quite right, you’re welcome here. My role is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel heard, understood, and empowered as we begin this process together.
I believe that healing begins with feeling seen, heard, and supported. I use a person-centered approach, which means your unique story, values, and goals guide our work together. My role is to walk alongside you—not to lead or direct, but to empower you with practical tools that support real, lasting change.
I am best positioned to support adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, stress, relationship challenges, life transitions, and self-esteem concerns, as well as those working through difficulties with boundaries and emotional regulation. I also enjoy working with high-performing individuals who may look successful on the outside but are feeling overwhelmed, burnt out, stuck in perfectionism, or struggling to find balance between work, relationships, and personal well-being. Many of the clients I work with are thoughtful, motivated for change, and ready to better understand themselves, even if they’re feeling uncertain or exhausted in the process. I provide support for those experiencing family conflict, workplace stress, grief, identity exploration, and the ongoing challenge of trying to “do it all” while still taking care of their emotional health. My style is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth. I aim to create a space where clients feel genuinely seen, safe, and supported as they build healthier coping skills, strengthen relationships, and move toward a more balanced and fulfilling life.
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients better understand how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected. I have experience using CBT with teens and adults who are dealing with anxiety, depression, stress, relationship issues, life transitions, and self-esteem concerns.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
In sessions, I help clients recognize what is already working well, set realistic goals, and create small, manageable steps toward positive change. I encourage clients to build on their existing strengths and coping skills while focusing on progress and possibilities for the future.
Interpersonal
I use Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) to help clients better understand how their relationships and life experiences affect their mood, emotions, and overall well-being. I have experience using this approach with teens and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, relationship conflict, life transitions, and communication difficulties.
Couples Counseling
I work with couples to help improve communication, rebuild trust, strengthen emotional connection, and navigate challenges within the relationship. I have experience supporting couples dealing with conflict, life transitions, intimacy concerns, boundary issues, stress, and difficulties with communication.
Psychoeducation
I use psychoeducation to help clients better understand their mental health, emotions, behaviors, and coping patterns. I believe that learning more about what they are experiencing can help clients feel more empowered, confident, and supported throughout the therapy process.
