Alexis Winegar
Are you going through a transition in life? Are you struggling with navigating feelings, decisions or conflicts? Well, you have made a courageous first step by seeking help! My goal is to provide a safe space for you to realize your strengths, identify and process your emotions, and work through things in life that are keeping you "stuck." I take a person-centered approach to therapy, using techniques and theories from numerous approaches to help you adjust and grow through your unique experiences. Although I value clinical interventions, creating an environment that feels safe and welcoming is my top priority. I have experience building rapport and creating therapeutic relationships with children, adolescents and adults going through all phases of life. While my specialization is in navigating life transitions, I have experience working with many concerns, including depression, anxiety, sexuality, and relationships.

Don't hesitate to reach out to me! I'd love to start helping you navigate the challenging areas of your life.
First session
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
Strengths
One of my biggest strengths is being able to meet people where they are. As a therapist, it is important to generate goals for treatment, however everyone reaches those goals at a different pace. There is no gain in pushing people to go somewhere they are not ready.
Ideal clients
I best serve adult clients navigating life transitions and all of the feelings that are associated. I believe clients often come to therapy with a general idea of things they want to work on, however those things often evolve into other areas to tackle as well. I enjoy working with couples, navigating conflict and communication styles and also enjoy family therapy work to tackle concerns within the family system!
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use this approach in combination with other theories, including person-centered, DBT skill building, and Adlerian.
