Gabrielle Mouzon
As your confidential ear to listen, I will help you identify goals that are specific to your treatment needs. If you are struggling with life's challenges, are dealing with a difficult transition in your life, or if you need assistance with finding new ways to cope with issues, then you have found the right place.
You can expect a personal, yet professional atmosphere while allowing yourself the ability to heal and move forward into the life you've always imagined.
Is anxiety, depression or uncertainty weighing you down? Let's talk about it. I am dedicated to helping you along your journey as you process through difficult issues. I strongly believe that the key to change is through talking out your problems and understanding that you have the power to overcome the hurdle that is in front of you.
First session
During the first session, I will review basic demographic information, get an understanding of your problem area(s) that you'd like to work on and identify treatment goals that will be worked on during the course of therapy.
Strengths
Strengths that I like to highlight include acceptance of all clients from different walks of life, strong interpersonal skills, being a good listener, maintaining respect, and rapport-building with my clients. Building a therapeutic rapport is the cornerstone of successful treatment. I like to make my clients feel welcomed, comfortable, and safe to share what's on their mind. At the end of the day, we are all human, so it is important for me to relate to clients in that aspect of humanity, which makes for a healthy, genuine connection. You can expect a personal, yet professional atmosphere while allowing yourself the ability to heal and move forward into the life you've always imagined. Your future self will thank you for it.
Ideal clients
Adolescents with non-acute symptoms, young adults, adults, individual therapy, group therapy
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT is useful for re-wiring negative thinking patterns and helping the client understand alternative ways of looking at a situation.
Solution-Focused Brief Treatment
I am 100% solution-oriented. If there's a problem, a resolve has to be nearby. It might just take a little extra "digging" in order to find it.
Narrative
What story do you have to tell? Is it a story that perpetuates the same negative cycle which ultimately leads to the same results? I believe changing the narrative of your story is a key factor in eliciting change and a newer, healthier version of you.
