Hello! I'm Gi, a Filipino-American Licensed Clinical Social Worker supporting adults through life transitions, identity exploration, and the stress and anxiety of everyday life. I have over 15 years of experience in the mental health field. Many of my clients feel pressure to have it all together while feeling overwhelmed or disconnected. My role is to help you slow down, reconnect, and move forward with intention. I like to hold space for the overthinkers, high achievers, and people pleasers.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our early sessions will focus on building trust and safety, because meaningful change happens when you feel truly seen and supported. My approach is collaborative and compassionate. I meet you where you are, using deep, reflective listening to understand your experience while gently encouraging new coping strategies and growth through discomfort

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My work is shaped by both clinical training and lived experience. As an Asian American, immigrant, and eldest daughter, I understand the weight of expectations, parentification, first-generation stress, and the tension between honoring family and forming your own identity. I bring this perspective to therapy with empathy, curiosity, and respect for your story.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I specialize in creating a safe and supportive environment for overthinkers, high achievers, and people pleasers. As an eldest daughter who understands the weight of expectations, the impact of parentification, and the journey of finding your own identity while caring for others, I bring both clinical expertise and lived empathy to my work. I am passionate about creating space for healing, self-discovery, and culturally grounded support that honors the whole person.

My treatment methods

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

As an immigrant, I provide therapy that is culturally sensitive as part of my practice.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT for my clients needing to change and address negative thought patterns and behaviors. This change will ideally result in improved emotion regulation and gaining coping skills.

Motivational Interviewing

I use motivational interviewing to gauge a client's stage of change. If my client is uncertain or unmotivated, I assist in helping them gain clarity and move into a motivated stage of change.

Psychoeducation

I have extensive experience using psychoeducation in my practice. I primarily use it to help clients better understand their symptomology and behaviors. This understanding empowers them to make informed decisions about their treatment and overall well-being. Psychoeducation allows me to create a collaborative therapeutic relationship where clients feel heard, understood, and capable of actively participating in their own healing journey.

Narrative

Narrative therapy allows my clients to detach from negative life stories and situations. This type of intervention will allow my clients to recognize that life problems are separate from them and my clients can re-author their lives at any given time.
