About me

Hello, I acquired a Master of Arts degree in Mental Health Counseling in 2001. I am currently a Licensed Professional Counselor registered with the Louisiana LPC Board of Examiners and Georgia Professional Licensing Board. I believe that anyone can gain knowledge through their experience in an optimistic way in a warm, supportive, therapeutic environment with a therapist who is nonjudgmental, understanding, and compassionate.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we will have brief introductions and then delve into personal challenges for you. Therapist will be providing tools, techniques, and resources to help better manage those challenges and to help bring about change. Goals for therapy will be identified and worked towards during the course of therapy.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

A lifelong learner best describes me :) I am a retired educator that was passionate in my work with students that had learning disabilities. I acquired the virtue of patience through that work experience and learned to never give up! I have continued to utilize hopefulness and enthusiasm in therapy.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I have provided therapy for both children and adults and can honestly say I enjoy working with all ages in various stages of life. I can help you to discover the useful tools that lie within you in order to cope with life's troubles, enabling you to have the kind of life you would like to have.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help people learn to think differently so that they can bring about change with undesired behaviors. Research shows that people can learn to change their behavior and more importantly maintain the change.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I use person-centered therapy to provide clients with empathy and unconditional positive regard to help facilitate change. Focusing on the person and not the problem allows the client to achieve greater independence and be better at coping with current or future problems.
