First session
As a therapist who specializes in trauma, I understand the impact that abuse, manipulation, and control have on our view of ourselves and of the world around us. As much as we want for the people who caused us harm to change and take responsibility for their actions, the true path to healing comes from developing healthy patterns to change the trajectory of our lives and not repeat toxic cycles. I believe that your past does not define you. You have the ability to heal, change, and grow. Let's begin your journey of identifying patterns that are no longer serving you and finding your true inner strength to chart your course to a happier life.
Strengths
The most important thing in our work together is a trusting relationship. I value learning the life stories of my clients, including understanding cultural/religious backgrounds. It is my sincere hope that you feel supported, heard, honored, and respected throughout our sessions.
Ideal clients
I believe that change happens when individuals develop an understanding of the patterns that are limiting their growth, relationships, and life decisions. So many times, we get stuck in a rut of blaming others and/or developing resentment toward people and situations. When we truly learn that the only person we can control is oneself, it is freeing and opens the door to focusing on real change and growth.
Treatment methods
Eclectic
I draw from a multitude of treatment modalities, with a primary focus on helping individuals to understand their core negative beliefs, triggers, and maladaptive patterns.
