As a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), my goal is to provide compassionate, evidence-based psychiatric care in a safe, respectful, and nonjudgmental environment where you feel heard, understood, and actively involved in your treatment. I believe the best outcomes are achieved through a collaborative partnership, where we make informed decisions together based on your symptoms, goals, preferences, and overall well-being. I recognize that mental health conditions often overlap and can present with similar symptoms. For example, anxiety, ADHD, depression, burnout, trauma, sleep disorders, and hormonal changes may all contribute to difficulties with concentration, emotional regulation, motivation, memory, and daily functioning. Rather than focusing solely on symptom relief, I take the time to understand the underlying factors contributing to your concerns to ensure an accurate diagnosis and an individualized treatment plan.

I am also particularly attentive to the overlap between emotional, biological, and life-stage factors (such as stress, burnout, or hormonal changes), ensuring a more comprehensive and holistic understanding of each client’s experience.

I am also attentive to the impact of life-stage transitions and biological factors on mental health, including perimenopause, menopause, postpartum changes, chronic stress, and other medical conditions that may influence mood, anxiety, cognition, and overall emotional well-being. By considering the whole person, not just a diagnosis. I strive to provide comprehensive psychiatric care that integrates thoughtful medication management, psychoeducation, and collaborative treatment planning to help you achieve lasting symptom improvement and a better quality of life.

First session

My practice focuses on comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, accurate diagnosis, medication management, and ongoing monitoring to ensure that treatment is both effective and safe. When medication is appropriate, I take the time to explain the rationale for each recommendation, expected benefits, possible side effects, and alternative treatment options so you can make informed decisions about your care. Treatment plans are regularly reassessed and adjusted based on your progress, response to medication, and changing clinical needs. I also recognize that mental health is influenced by many interconnected factors. I pay close attention to the interaction between psychiatric symptoms, medical conditions, stress, trauma, sleep, lifestyle, substance use, and life-stage changes, including hormonal transitions such as pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause, and menopause, to develop a comprehensive understanding of each individual's experience. Because no two people are the same, every treatment plan is individualized. Whether you are seeking care for anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, OCD, insomnia, or another mental health concern, my goal is to help reduce symptoms, improve daily functioning, enhance quality of life, and support long-term emotional wellness through thoughtful medication management, education, and collaborative care.

Strengths

One of my greatest strengths as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner is my ability to build a safe, respectful, and nonjudgmental therapeutic relationship where clients feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported. I strive to create an environment in which individuals feel comfortable discussing sensitive concerns while actively participating in decisions about their treatment. I combine evidence-based psychiatric care with a compassionate, patient-centered approach. My focus is on providing thorough psychiatric evaluation, thoughtful medication management, and ongoing education so that clients understand their diagnosis, treatment options, expected outcomes, and the role medications play in their recovery. I believe informed patients are empowered patients. What distinguishes my practice is my commitment to making psychiatric care understandable and practical. I take the time to explain complex mental health conditions and medication recommendations in clear, relatable language, helping clients feel confident and engaged in their treatment. Beyond symptom reduction, I focus on improving daily functioning, resilience, and overall quality of life through individualized treatment plans that integrate medication management, psychoeducation, and healthy lifestyle strategies when appropriate.

Ideal clients

I am best positioned to work with adults (18+) experiencing a wide range of mental health concerns, including anxiety disorders, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, OCD, insomnia, panic attacks, stress-related conditions, and life transitions. Many of the individuals I care for are high-functioning professionals, parents, caregivers, and students who appear to manage daily responsibilities but experience significant internal distress, emotional exhaustion, difficulty concentrating, or impaired quality of life. As a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, accurate diagnosis, and individualized medication management tailored to each person's unique needs. I work collaboratively with clients to develop evidence-based treatment plans that prioritize symptom relief, functional improvement, medication safety, and long-term emotional wellness. My goal is not only to reduce psychiatric symptoms but also to help clients improve their ability to function at work, maintain healthy relationships, manage life's challenges with greater resilience, and achieve a better overall quality of life. I welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds and strive to provide culturally sensitive, compassionate, and collaborative psychiatric care in a supportive and nonjudgmental environment.

Treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have extensive experience utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a core component of my clinical practice. CBT is an evidence-based, structured, and goal-oriented treatment that focuses on identifying and modifying maladaptive thought patterns and behaviors that contribute to emotional distress.
