Miranda Oddo
Hi, I’m Miranda! I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and I believe therapy should feel like a real conversation—not like you’re being analyzed from across the room. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life changes, or simply feeling stuck. My approach is warm, honest, and practical. There’s space for the hard conversations, the messy ones, and yes, even some laughter along the way. You don’t have to show up knowing exactly what to say or where to start. We’ll figure that part out together and focus on what moving forward looks like for you.
First session
There’s no pressure to tell your whole life story in the first hour. We’ll start with what brought you in and go from there. I’ll ask questions, you can ask questions, and together we’ll start making sense of what’s going on and what you want from therapy. My hope is that you leave feeling like you can exhale a little—like you’ve been heard, we have a starting point, and you don’t have to figure everything out at once.
Strengths
My own life experiences have taught me that there’s a time to sit with the hard stuff and a time to figure out what we’re going to do with it. I bring that same balance into therapy. I’ll give you space to process without rushing you, but I also won’t be afraid to ask the hard questions, offer a different perspective, or challenge a pattern that may be keeping you stuck. I’m genuine, curious, and practical, and I believe good therapy should feel like we’re working through things together—not like I’m sitting across from you with all the answers.
Ideal clients
I especially enjoy working with military members and veterans who are navigating the “what now?” parts of life—transitioning out, changes in identity or purpose, relationships, trauma, loss, or realizing that pushing through everything isn’t working like it used to. I also work with adults facing anxiety, depression, grief, and major life changes. You want therapy that feels like a real conversation, with someone who will listen, challenge you when needed, and help you figure out what moving forward actually looks like.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Sometimes we go through life on autopilot, reacting to situations based on thoughts and patterns we may not even realize are there. I use CBT to help you slow things down, notice those patterns, and understand how they may be affecting the way you feel and respond. Together, we’ll look at what’s keeping you stuck, challenge the thoughts that aren’t helping, and find practical ways to respond differently. The goal isn’t to just “think positive”—it’s to better understand yourself, step out of autopilot, and build tools that actually work for you and your life.
Strength-Based
It’s easy to get so focused on what isn’t working that we stop noticing what is. I use a strength-based approach to help you take a step back and recognize the strengths, skills, and resilience you already have. Together, we’ll look at what has helped you before, what you’re already doing well, and how we can build on those things moving forward. This isn’t about ignoring the hard stuff or pretending everything is okay—it’s about making sure your struggles aren’t the only part of your story.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
Sometimes the more we fight uncomfortable thoughts and feelings, the more space they seem to take up. With ACT, we’ll work on making room for the hard stuff without letting it control what happens next. Not every thought or feeling needs to be fixed or pushed away. Instead, we’ll focus on what matters to you and how you can keep moving forward without giving the hard stuff the final say.
