New to Grow
Making the decision to seek help can be one of the hardest parts, so congratulations on taking this first step! My practice is person-centered and grounded in values of empathy, compassion, and resilience. I strive for my clients to feel heard and validated. I feel strongly that prioritizing mental health is a cornerstone of self care; you cannot take care of anyone else if you don't take care of yourself first.
In our first session you’ll have the opportunity to share your story and what you hope to achieve in therapy. I strive to create a warm and welcoming environment that allows you to feel comfortable sharing and being vulnerable, while also feeling safe and secure. From there, we’ll work together in the sessions that follow to make your goals a reality.
Everyone has a unique story and deserves an individualized approach to care. Once we decide to work together, we’ll act as partners in your therapeutic journey. It’s important to me that we communicate openly and you feel respected in our relationship. I’ll be there to listen to you, challenge you, and support you along the way. My hope is by the end of our time working together that you feel empowered to move forward in your life with confidence.
After spending a majority of my career working in hospice care, I am best positioned to serve adult clients who are struggling with grief and loss, are looking for an empathic therapeutic relationship to support them through that difficult time in their life, and are motivated to move through the process in a supportive environment to seek peace on the other side.
I identify as
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, develop healthier coping strategies, and create meaningful behavioral changes that support their goals. My approach is collaborative, practical, and tailored to each client's unique experiences and strengths.
Motivational Interviewing
I use Motivational Interviewing (MI) to help clients explore and resolve ambivalence about change in a supportive, nonjudgmental environment. By eliciting clients' own values, strengths, and motivations, I help them build confidence and take meaningful steps toward their goals.
Solution Focused Brief Treatment
I use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) to help clients identify their strengths, build on existing successes, and develop practical solutions to current challenges. This approach emphasizes clients' goals, resources, and resilience, helping them create meaningful change in a focused and efficient way.
