I ask a lot of questions! I want to get to know you, your history, background, struggles, strengths, interests, and passions. We all have the capacity to do better and change whatever we are not happy with within ourselves. Sometimes we need someone to ask the difficult questions that lead to growth, or to help us see our worth, strengths, or to just believe in us. My passion is helping others see their worth and helping them gain the skills needed to better navigate life. I love to explore people's stories, their unique qualities, and how their worldview shapes life. I am supportive, encouraging, and motivating when helping you make the changes necessary to achieve your personal goals. I use a variety of techniques to assist you in reaching healing and an increased quality of life.
I use an integrative approach to therapy tailored to each individual. I may use one technique in one session, and another in the next depending on what the client is presenting with at the moment. I like to meet each person where they are at and gently motivate them to meet their specified goals. I am a firm believer that our thoughts/feelings and beliefs have an impact on behaviors and experiences in life. I also believe that mindfulness, self-awareness, and childhood experiences play a key role in identifying and managing life triggers that can cause distress. I utilize a plethora of techniques in sessions to improve mind/body connection, increase symptom management, create a stronger connection to self and others, and challenge how we think/feel/act in every day life.
I feel my biggest strengths are in working with those struggling with anxiety, depression and trauma. I explore childhood experiences/relationships and work to identify how early experiences shape who we are today. I believe life experiences, relationships, interactions with others, and our sense of purpose impact who we become. Exploring this with clients is a passion of mine as I feel it plays a large role in our mental health and functioning. I am fascinated with the brain and its impact on behavior, development, and resiliency. This drives me to continue research in how the mind-body connection works. I also like to explore the impact on attachment in development and how this impacts functioning in relationships and within the self. I enjoy helping others see their true potential.
