About me

I’m Philip Warrick, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with over 12 years of experience helping adults, professionals, and individuals and families impacted by trauma, substance use, depression, anxiety, grief, and many other mental health challenges . My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and tailored to your unique goals. I draw on evidence-based therapies like CBT, ACT, REBT, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to help you develop practical skills, build resilience, and create meaningful change. I believe therapy is a partnership where we work together to identify what matters most to you and move toward the life you want to live.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, my focus is on getting to know you—your story, your goals, and what brings you to therapy. We will move at your pace, and you’ll never feel pressured to share more than you are ready for. I strive to create a relaxed, supportive environment where you can feel comfortable opening up. Together, we’ll begin building a foundation of trust and identify the areas you’d like to focus on, ensuring therapy feels safe, collaborative, and tailored to your needs.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to connect with clients in a genuine and supportive way, creating a space where they feel understood and respected. With over 12 years of experience, I bring both clinical expertise and real-world perspective to help clients navigate complex challenges. I am skilled at tailoring evidence-based approaches like CBT, ACT, and Solution-Focused Therapy to meet each person’s unique needs, blending structure with flexibility. My background working with trauma, substance use, and a wide range of mental health concerns allows me to guide clients through difficult times with compassion, clarity, and practical strategies that lead to lasting growth.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are motivated to make meaningful changes in their lives, even if they’re not sure where to begin. They may be struggling with challenges like trauma, substance use, anxiety, depression, or grief, and are looking for a safe space to process their experiences. I work best with adults from all walks of life—whether they are professionals balancing high demands, or everyday individuals seeking support through difficult seasons. What they all share is a desire to grow, to understand themselves more fully, and to build practical skills that support long-term healing and resilience.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have over 12 years of experience using CBT to help individuals struggling with depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, and a wide range of other mental health concerns. In my practice, I take a collaborative approach with clients to identify unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors, then work together to explore healthier alternatives. I enjoy tailoring interventions to each client’s unique goals, helping them build practical coping strategies and long-term skills for lasting change.

Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy

Drawing on over 12 years of experience, I incorporate REBT to help clients identify and challenge irrational beliefs that contribute to distress. Together, we work to replace unhelpful thinking patterns with healthier, more balanced perspectives that support emotional well-being and positive behavior change. I find REBT especially useful in addressing issues like anxiety, depression, and substance use, where reframing rigid beliefs can empower clients to move toward their goals with greater confidence and clarity.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I use SFBT to help clients recognize and build on their existing strengths, skills, and resources. Rather than focusing heavily on problems, I guide clients toward identifying practical solutions and small, achievable steps that align with their goals. Over my 12 years of practice, I’ve found this approach especially effective for clients seeking short-term, goal-oriented support, as it fosters hope, resilience, and a clear path forward.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

With more than 12 years of clinical experience, I have used ACT to support clients facing depression, anxiety, trauma, and substance use challenges. I help clients build greater psychological flexibility by learning to accept difficult thoughts and emotions while still taking meaningful action aligned with their values. In practice, I guide individuals to clarify what truly matters to them and develop mindful, present-focused strategies that foster resilience and long-term growth.

Grief Therapy

With over 12 years of experience, I provide compassionate support to individuals coping with loss in its many forms—whether from the death of a loved one, relationship changes, or other life transitions. I help clients process the complex emotions of grief at their own pace, creating a safe space to honor their loss while also exploring meaning, resilience, and hope. My approach integrates evidence-based strategies with empathetic presence, guiding clients toward healing and adjustment in ways that feel authentic to them.
